Richardson recorded 21 points (8-17 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in 37 minutes during Monday's 104-93 win against the Hawks.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson paced the Heat in scoring and minutes while contributing on both ends. He is averaging 14.3 points (47.1 FG, 38.1 3Pt, 60.0 FT), 4.7 boards, 2.7 assists, 2.7 threes, 1.3 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 36.7 minutes through the first three contests of the season, and Richardson will likely remain a solid fantasy option across all formats as long as he keeps earning such heavy minutes.

Richardson will start the Heat's opener Wednesday night against the Magic, Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson was held out of the Heat's final preseason game, but he'll get the start at small forward ahead of Justise Winslow and the injured Rodney McGruder. Richardson and Winslow, who missed most of last season, will likely split minutes on the wing, and Richardson enters the season having averaged 10.2 points, 2.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game in 2016-17.

Richardson is doubtful for Friday's preseason finale against the 76ers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington will likely be the main beneficiaries of his assumed absence. Richardson should be considered day-to-day in advance of the team's regular-season opener if he doesn't play Friday.

Richardson recorded 18 points (7-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two blocks, and one steal in 30 minutes during Monday's 109-106 win over the Hornets.
EDGE Analysis
With Goran Dragic (rest) sitting out, Richardson made his second straight start on Monday, and did not disappoint. In these last two games, Richardson is averaging 18.5 points (48.3 FG, 54.5 3Pt, 75.0 FT), 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 29.5 minutes. Entering his third year, he boasts impressive size and versatility for his position, and he seems likely to have a substantial role once again for the Heat after averaging 30.5 minutes per night in 53 games (34 starts) last season.

Richardson is starting at point guard for Saturday's preseason game against the Magic, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Goran Dragic isn't expected to play Saturday, so the Heat will see how Richardson handles point guard duties in his stead. He's battling the likes of Justice Winslow and Rodney McGruder for the starting small forward job, but he could also see some run in the backcourt.

Richardson finished with six points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four assists, two rebounds, one steal and three turnovers during Thursday's 107-88 loss to the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
While Richardson's four assists are encouraging, the three turnovers certainly dampen the effort. He's a possible candidate to start the year at small forward and will seemingly battle for that right with the likes of Justise Winslow and Rodney McGruder throughout the preseason.

Richardson agreed to a four-year, $42 million contract extension with the Heat on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson struggled shooting the rock last year, hitting just 39.4 percent of his looks from the field and 33.0 percent of his threes en route to 10.2 points per game. He also dealt with injury issues during 2016-17, resulting in him appearing in only 53 games. That said, the Heat seem to believe in Richardson's upside as a player (touted as a scorer out of college) and have opted to secure him for four more campaigns. Part of that may be due to his ability to play multiple positions with his 6-foot-6, 200-pound frame. He wasn't much of a fantasy asset last season and may struggle to find playing time with the Heat's deep backcourt, which includes the likes of Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson, Dion Waiters and Justise Winslow.

Richardson scored 19 points (8-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with six rebounds, five steals, four assists and one block across 46 minutes in a 124-121 overtime win over the Cavaliers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson logged his heaviest minutes of the season Monday, and he made the most of them by filling up every inch of the stat sheet. He again showed off his uncanny ability to play passing lanes and pick players pockets by recording his second consecutive game with five steals and his third five-steal game in the last two weeks.

Richardson finished with just two points (0-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with five assists, two blocked shots and a steal over 29 minutes in Friday's 98-94 loss against the Knicks.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson was unable to duplicate the solid production he displayed in the front end of the home-and-home when he dropped 17 points at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. He has hit just 13 of his past 37 (35.1 percent) field-goal attempts over the past four games, and he appears to be hitting a bit of a wall in his second NBA season.

Richardson tallied 17 points (7-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt), five steals, one rebound, one assist and one blocked shot over 35 minutes in Wednesday's 105-88 win over the Knicks.
EDGE Analysis
With Dion Waiters (ankle) sidelined, Richardson once again drew the start and performed admirably, posting team highs in 3-pointers (three) and steals (five) on Wednesday. Although he shot 7-for-12 from the floor on Wednesday, he's struggled with his shot in 2016. This year he is shooting only 38.1 percent, a full seven percentage points less than his 2015 campaign. While he's an interesting DFS tournament option when he starts, his numbers aren't quite consistent enough to merit a weekly start, especially at this pivotal point in the season.
