McRoberts (foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
It continues to look like a long shot that McRoberts will be ready for the start of the regular season with just six days until Miami's first game. For as long as McRoberts is inactive, Derrick Williams will likely continue to start at power forward with James Johnson and Luke Babbitt contributing in the frontcourt in smaller lineups.

McRoberts (foot) has been ruled out of Tuesday's preseason matchup with the Magic, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts has missed the entirety of the Heat's preseason schedule while working back from stress reaction in his left foot. He currently remains without a concrete timetable for a return, so continue to consider him day-to-day until further information is provided. Considering how long the injury has lingered, there's a chance McRoberts misses the start of the regular season, but he'll have another nine days for additional recovery before that point in time.

McRoberts (foot) will sit out Friday's preseason outing versus the Spurs, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts was able to log a limited practice earlier this week, but will be sidelined again Friday, as he's yet to be cleared to make his preseason debut. Considering he was ruled out a day in advance, it seems as if McRoberts could still be a ways off from a potential return, making it questionable if he'll be ready for the regular season opener. Derrick Williams, Luke Babbitt and James Johnson should continue to see the majority of the minutes at power forward.

McRoberts (foot) has been ruled out of Tuesday's preseason matchup with the Nets, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts continues to recover from a stress reaction in his right foot and has yet to participate in a full practice, after spending the last few days as a limited participant. At this point, there's no guarantees he's able to return prior to the start of the regular season, which means Derrick Williams, Luke Babbitt and James Johnson should continue to battle for the vacant starting power forward job.

McRoberts (foot) was limited in Monday's practice, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Things don't appear to be getting better for McRoberts, and it is possible, with the Heat already lacking depth in the front court, the team holds the power forward out for a while longer as a precautionary measure in the preseason. It's very unlikely that McRoberts suits up for Tuesday's preseason matchup with Brooklyn, meaning the next most likely time for him to return to the floor would be Friday at San Antonio, but that all depends on how much activity McRoberts is able to put in this week.

McRoberts (foot) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts has been recovering from a stress reaction in his left foot and has yet to see action during the preseason schedule. Thursday's practice was the first McRoberts has gone through in some time, which is good news for his eventual availability. With that said, he was still just a limited participant and could be sidelined for another week or two. McRoberts expects to compete for the starting power forward role left behind with Chris Bosh (blood clots) leaving the Heat organization, but his health could ultimately keep him in a bench role to start the season.

McRoberts (foot) will be sidelined for the Heat's preseason opener Tuesday against the Wizards.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts continues to sit out practices while recovering from a stress reaction in his right foot, so it seems likely that he'll miss further preseason action beyond Tuesday. The Heat expect McRoberts to gradually increase his activities throughout training camp, but it remains uncertain if he'll be ready to go for the start of the regular season. With McRoberts sitting out, Derrick Williams, Luke Babbitt and James Johnson will receive additional opportunities to stake their claim to the vacant starting job at power forward.

McRoberts (foot) revealed Wednesday that he's recovering from a stress reaction in his left foot, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts has been limited through the first few days of camp, but he said Tuesday that he expects to increase his activity level as the week progresses. It remains to be seen if he'll be ready when the preseason begins, but once healthy he'll compete with Derrick Williams, James Johnson and Udonis Haslem for minutes at the power forward spot following the (likely) departure of Chris Bosh (blood clots).

McRoberts (ankle/foot) opened training camp as a limited participant Tuesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. "It was an injury from about five weeks ago, with his ankle and foot," coach Erik Spoelstra said. "But he's actually rehabbing well. So he'll be doing more and more this week."
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts has been working back from both an ankle and foot injury over the past five weeks or so and has now opened practice as a limited participant. He reportedly didn't go through any team drills on Tuesday, but he was seen going through some shooting drills following the team's practice session. McRoberts expects to have his participation pick up as the week progresses, but it's yet to be announced whether he'll be cleared for the start of the preseason schedule. With Chris Bosh (blood clots) out indefinitely following a failed physical, McRoberts should have a chance to fight for a starter's role at power forward and could see a decent increase in playing time after averaging just 14.2 minutes per game a season ago.

McRoberts is still recovering from a foot injury as training camp approaches, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear when McRoberts picked up the injury, nor is it known how it might impact his activity level during training camp. The 2015-16 campaign was an injury-plagued mess for McRoberts, who made only 42 appearances and averaged 3.6 points on a woeful 37.2 percent shooting from the field to go with 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 14.2 minutes per game. While those numbers wouldn't normally make McRoberts a candidate for an expanded role during the upcoming season, the recent news that Chris Bosh (blood clots) failed his physical and remains indefinitely creates a major void at power forward for the Heat. Expect coach Erik Spoelsta to use a combination of McRoberts, Derrick Williams, Luke Babbitt and Justise Winslow to cover the bulk of the minutes at that position for as long as Bosh is sidelined.
