The Heat have informed McRoberts that he remains in the team's plans for the upcoming season, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts' name surfaced in trade rumors throughout the offseason, but since the big man underwhelmed during an injury-plagued 2015-16 campaign and is due $5.8 million in 2016-17, it's unlikely the Heat gained much traction with any supposed discussions. With Chris Bosh's health on uncertain ground heading into the season while he recovers from a setback relating to blood clots, the Heat could need McRoberts to raise his performance in order to remain competitive in the Eastern Conference.

McRoberts provided six points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds and a steal across 18 minutes in Wednesday's 99-91 Game 5 loss to the Raptors.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts only saw action in one of the first three games of the series, but with Hassan Whiteside (knee) sitting out Games 4 and 5, the rangy big man has reemerged as a rotation member. He's combined to play 39 minutes in those two contests, but he hasn't been a high-priority option on the offensive end, which has limited his overall impact on the stat sheet. Expect that to largely remain the case so long as Whiteside remains sidelined, as coach Erik Spoelstra has essentially opted to distribute Whiteside's minutes among McRoberts, Udonis Haslem, Amar'e Stoudemire and Justise Winslow rather than directly handing them to one player in particular.

McRoberts (coach's decision) didn't play in Tuesday's 102-96 overtime victory against the Raptors in Game 1 of the series.
EDGE Analysis
After logging a postseason-high 20 minutes in the Heat's series-clinching Game 7 win over the Hornets on Sunday, McRoberts dropped out of the rotation Tuesday in a much more competitive game. McRoberts looks to be behind Hassan Whiteside, Luol Deng, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Udonis Haslem in the Heat's rotation of big men.

McRoberts finished with two points (1-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 16 minutes during the Heat's 98-88 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts has appeared in two of the last three games and in four of eight April contests. He averaged four points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 14 minutes this month, but McRoberts may be unlikely to see much time in the playoffs. During two matchups with the Hornets this season, McRoberts combined to play 17 minutes while totaling just four rebounds and two assists.

McRoberts will draw the start in Wednesday's matchup with the Spurs, Jason Lieser of The Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts is drawing the rare start because Luol Deng was a late scratch from the lineup. McRoberts should see a heavier workload than usual, but still draws a very difficult matchup with the the Spurs' stingy frontcourt defense. It is unclear how much time Deng will miss, but if he misses any more McRobert could continue grabbing some extra minutes.

McRoberts picked up three fouls in three minutes during Tuesday's win over the Pelicans.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts certainly made his presence felt during his time on the court, though likely not in the positive way that he had hoped. He's barely held down a rotation spot of late, appearing in just five of the Heat's 11 games in March.

McRoberts (coach's decision) didn't see the court in Sunday's 98-81 win over the Knicks.
EDGE Analysis
The addition of Joe Johnson was expected to result in declining minutes for all of the Heat's wing players, but coach Erik Spoelstra instead opted to just run a shorter rotation of eight men. That resulted in both McRoberts and Gerald Green staying on the bench the whole night, despite both players having seen double-digit minutes in the previous contest Saturday against the Celtics. McRoberts would seem to have a better chance to reenter the rotation in the future than Green given the shallower talent pool the Heat have in the frontcourt, but it will be tough for McRoberts to find meaningful court time while he ranks fourth in the rotation behind Hassan Whiteside, Amar'e Stoudmire, and Luol Deng.

McRoberts poured in 19 points (8-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt), 10 assists, and six rebounds in 30 minutes during the Heat's 115-111 victory over the Hawks on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts played 30 minutes off the bench with Chris Bosh (calf) and Hassan Whiteside (suspension) sidelined, and the forward from Duke went off for season-highs in scoring and assists. Like Bosh, McRoberts is a willing passer and a lefty with a smooth outside stroke. As long as Bosh continues to sit out, McRoberts is a great candidate to see increased minutes at the four. However, if he keeps performing at this level, he'll likely remain a relevant part of the rotation even after Bosh is able to return given Bosh's ability to slide over and occupy the center position.

McRoberts (knee) managed two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds in 10 minutes during the Heat's 93-90 win over the Mavericks on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts is no longer facing a minutes restriction, but he still didn't see much time. Coach Erik Spoelstra said pre-game that he anticipated McRoberts would get back to seeing his normal load of minutes on Wednesday, so if this is normal, he can safely be left on waiver wires.

McRoberts will not have a minutes restriction going forward, Jason Lieser of The Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
McRoberts returned last Friday after missing over a month with a knee injury. Coach Erik Spoelstra said that McRoberts was on a minutes restriction at the time, and McRoberts has averaged 13.3 minutes per game in the three games since then. He could be in for more playing time than that going forward now that the coaches aren't concerned with easing him back into play.
