McRoberts (toe) will not play Friday or Saturday, Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald reports.
McRoberts has practiced minimally all preseason due to a consistent toe injury stemming from surgery he had earlier this offseason. Initially it appeared that McRoberts would be able to heal quickly enough to play the season opener, however that notion is now in doubt.

McRoberts (toe) will not play Tuesday against the Hawks.
McRoberts continues to be hampered by a toe injury, which he recently aggravated during practice. The team also revealed that McRoberts is dealing with back pain after straining his back on the first day of camp. The forward is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis, but his status for the season opener is up in the air at this point.

McRoberts (toe) participated in more of Thursday's practice than he has in previous days, Ethan Skolnick of Turner Sports reports.
McRoberts has been limited since the start of camp with a toe injury, and he'll likely remain sidelined for most of the preseason. The fact that he's increasing his participation is a positive sign, however, and ideally he'll be able to see action in a few preseason contests before the regular season begins.

McRoberts (toe) may not receive medical clearance in time to suit up for the Heat's season opener on Oct. 29 against the Wizards, the Miami Herald reports. Coach Erik Spoelstra said, "I anticipate he'll increase his workload significantly in the next week to 10 days."
Assuming 10 days pass before he's cleared, McRoberts' earliest return date appears to be Oct. 17 versus the Warriors. While he'll continue to ramp up his rehabilitation and practice reps, with the hope of taking the court on Opening Night, Udonis Haslem and Chris Andersen (calf/toe) are poised to fill in at power forward for the offseason pickup.

McRoberts (toe) will miss most or all of the preseason, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
McRoberts had surgery on the toe early in the summer and still is not close to 100 percent as training camp begins. He practiced Monday but apparently suffered a setback within the last two days and is slated to miss about a month. In his first season with the Heat, McRoberts figures to compete for a starting role.

McRoberts (toe) returned to practice Monday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
McRoberts missed Sunday's session while still recovering from offseason toe surgery, but made his Heat practice debut to begin this week. Still figured to be short of 100 percent health, the recently signed big man is expected to be brought along incrementally during training camp. Nonetheless, McRoberts should be full-speed for the start of the regular season, when he should start next to center Chris Bosh at power forward for Miami.

McRoberts (toe) is expected to be ready for the start of Miami's opener on Oct. 29, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
McRoberts had surgery on his toe during the offseason to remove bone spurs but seems to be unaffected going into the season. The surgery took place immediately after the Hornets' run in the playoffs had ended, so McRoberts has had the entire summer to recover. He will have the opportunity to play in eight preseason games before the regular season starts, so his status should be updated as he tests out his reconstructed toe.

Unrestricted free agent Josh McRoberts has reportedly verbally committed to sign with Miami.
The deal is reportedly for the full mid-level exception for four-years, and $23 million with a player option after the third year. McRoberts is a solid role player, and a stretch four that can spread the floor with his shooting and passing abilities. While McRoberts was a sneaky low-end contributor last year, his statistical output in Miami is unlikely to help a fantasy squad. The Hornets lose their starting power forward, which opens up the door for Cody Zeller and Noah Vonleh to compete for minutes. It will be interesting to see how the rotations in Charlotte develop, and we'll be monitoring that situation closely.

Unrestricted free agent Josh McRoberts is "emerging as a serious free agent candidate" for the Heat, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
The Heat are likely hoping to get McRoberts on a full mid-level exception. McRoberts declined his $2.8 million option and should get a bigger deal after a terrific 2013-14 season. The Hornets/Bobcats have drafted a power forward in the lottery in each of the last two seasons, so they may not make a very compelling offer. Still, the Hornets are probably the favorite to bring him back.
