With Mitchell Robinson (illness) ruled out, Sims will move into the lineup at center for his first start since March 25. The rookie out of Texas has averaged 3.1 points and 5.3 rebounds over his last 12 appearances (19.0 MPG).

With Mitchell Robinson (back) back in the starting lineup, Sims will operate off the bench. Before drawing back-to-back starts, the rookie had averaged just 2.6 points and 6.0 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game over his previous five games.

Sims had six points (3-3 FG), seven rebounds, two assists and one block over 28 minutes during Friday's 111-103 victory over Miami.

EDGE Analysis

Sims remained in the starting lineup despite the return of Mitchell Robinson, ending the night with a serviceable fantasy line. It is unclear if this move is going to stick moving forward or if it was simply a way of easing Robinson back into things. If he does hold down the starting role, Sims could be someone to grab in deeper formats.

Sims ended Sunday's 110-107 loss to the Nets with six points (3-3 FG), 10 rebounds, two assists and one block over 23 minutes.

Although Sims scored only six points, he was a rebound magnet during his season-high 23 minutes on the floor. The 2021 second-round draft pick usually has minimal impact, but we could see more of Sims as the team's playoff hopes dwindle.

Sims recorded zero points (0-1 FG), 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 18 minutes in Sunday's 125-109 loss to the 76ers.

Prior to the All-Star break, the two-way rookie out of Texas had appeared in only two of the Knicks' last eight games, but he was a surprise inclusion in head coach Tom Thibodeau's rotation for both of the first two contests of the second half. On Sunday, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reported that Nerlens Noel is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot that had left him available only in an emergency for the past two contests, so Sims could end up losing hold of his role as Mitchell Robinson's top backup once Noel is healthy. Though Sims brought some energy off the bench Sunday, neither he nor Robinson had any answer for Joel Embiid, who made 27 trips to the free-throw line while both Knicks centers fouled out despite playing fewer than 20 minutes apiece.

Sims was assigned to the G League's Westchester Knicks on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Sims appeared in two of the last three games for New York, but he played just four total minutes. He's expected to see increased playing time during his stint in the G League.

Sims registered 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 32 minutes Tuesday in Westchester's 110-105 victory over Motor City.

EDGE Analysis

Sims has spent most of the season in a reserve role with the New York Knicks, but he was recently assigned to the G League to allow him to get more playing time. The rookie averaged only 6.5 minutes in 13 games with New York, preventing him from making much noise in the box score. Sims should get plenty of run with Westchester, for whom he is averaging 14.0 points, 15.5 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in two games this season.

Sims was assigned to the Westchester Knicks on Tuesday.

Sims and Miles McBride will both be available for Tuesday's contest against Motor City. Sims has spent most of the season as a reserve at the NBA level, but he's expected to get extended run during his stint in the G League.
