Jeremy Lin (knee) won't play until he can take contact in practice.
That could come later this week, but that's more speculation than anything else. "He's got to cut and guard people and push and do things of that nature, that's the big test," said Mike Woodson. The New York media continues to tout Lin's potential return as something that could turn the series around, but we can't seem him making a major impact even if he does somehow manage to return.

Jeremy Lin admitted that he felt "soreness" in his surgically-repaired knee Sunday.
Lin played one-on-one Saturday, cutting and moving laterally for the first time since going under the knife on April 2. But on Sunday, he reportedly seemed discouraged about the soreness and called it a "setback. He's still hoping to return for Game 4 of the Knicks' first-round series, but that's certainly not a lock. Even if Lin does make a return, coach Mike Woodson said to expect limited minutes.

Jeremy Lin (knee) has been ruled out for Games 2 and 3 vs. the Heat, but if his knee keeps improving he could return for Game 4 next Sunday.
"I was more encouraged by what I did [on Saturday] and less encouraged by how I felt [on Sunday]," said Lin. His desire to return is admirable, especially in the wake of Iman Shumpert's season-ending ACL tear, but our expectations are very low -- a return in Game 4 would be an absolute best-case scenario.

Iman Shumpert's season-ending ACL tear may cause the Knicks to speed up Jeremy Lin's return from left knee surgery -- he's ahead of schedule and could play during the first round.
The Knicks are "somewhat hopeful" that he could play if the series is extended, which means New York will need to win at least one game without him. After watching Saturday's dismantling, that seems quite optimistic.

Jeremy Lin (knee) played one-on-one Saturday and he's ahead of schedule in his rehab, but his status for the first round of the playoffs is still questionable.
Lin was running, cutting and (for the first time we've heard since his surgery) moving laterally prior to Game 1 in Miami. The way the Heat are playing so far on Saturday, he may not get a chance to play in the second round.

Mike Woodson remains hopeful that Jeremy Lin (knee) will be able to return for the second round of the playoffs.
"I'd like to think if we're able to get out of the first round, he should be ready for the second round," said Woodson." The head coach reiterated that it's not his decision to make as to when Lin returns, but with reports of the point guard "moving slowly" when shooting around on Wednesday paired with the fact that he's "at least three weeks away," Woodson is really just guessing more than anything in his assessment.

Jeremy Lin (knee) was seen shooting around on Wednesday, but was moving "awfully slowly."
Lin's lateral movement is a problem as we've previously noted, and there is nothing to suggest he'll be able to rejoin his team at any point in the near future. He's expected to be sidelined for "at least" three more weeks.

Jeremy Lin (torn meniscus) jogged Sunday for the first time since his April 2 surgery.
Lin is hoping to be able to play if the Knicks are able to advance to the second round of the playoffs. He still needs a couple weeks to cut laterally, jump and get his conditioning back. If the playoffs started today, Lin's seventh-seeded Knicks would face the Heat in the first round.

Coach Mike Woodson said that Jeremy Lin (knee) has not begun running.
Lin was hoping to begin jogging this week, but that has yet to happen."I think he's still on the bike and probably doing pool work, probably," said Woodson. "But no jogging as far as I know." Woodson confirmed that Lin is still on his six-week timetable.

Jeremy Lin had stitches taken out of his injured knee on Thursday, but is not close to returning according to head coach Mike Woodson.
The player who created Linsanity across the nation had an amazing run this February, but will not make it back for the regular season and should not be on any re-draft fantasy rosters.
