Updating a previous report, Jeremy Lin (back) had trouble driving, jumping and shooting during Thursday's light practice, and he's doubtful to play on Friday. "I am definitely not where I want to be in terms of where I was before," he said. "Today was the first time I did anything basketball-wise. We will see how it feels [on Friday] and then build from there." It sounds as though Patrick Beverley and Aaron Brooks will hold down the PG spot yet again vs. the Pacers, though Lin hasn't yet been ruled out.

Jeremy Lin (back) returned to practice Thursday for the first time since leaving last Friday's game against the Warriors. Lin's status for Friday and Saturday is unknown at the moment, but a return to practice can't be viewed as a bad thing. Lin's numbers this season haven't exactly resembled his "Linsanity" numbers from two years ago and he'll enter a crowded backcourt upon his return with Aaron Brooks and Patrick Beverly. He can be a solid, if not streaky, contributor when healthy, but owners may want to leave him on their bench upon his return until he gets his minutes back up over 25 per game.

Jeremy Lin (back) won't play on Wednesday but the Rockets hope that he'll return on Friday or Saturday. Lin visited a specialist on Tuesday and it seems as though he got some good news.

Jeremy Lin (back spasms) missed another practice on Tuesday. The Rockets were "not optimistic" about his status for Wednesday's game, and his continued absence today makes him seem more 'doubtful' than 'questionable'. If he does sit out, Patrick Beverley will get a few extra minutes as the starting PG and Aaron Brooks will once again pick up the slack off the bench.

Jeremy Lin (back) did not practice on Monday. He has back spasms and missed his first game with that issue on Sunday. Lin ran into an Andrew Bogut screen on Friday and it would appear it's something that might bother him for a while. He didn't play well on Friday and the Rockets only have three games this week, so sitting him in weekly leagues would appear to be the move. Aaron Brooks would benefit with Lin out.

Jeremy Lin had eight points, two assists and a 3-pointer on 2-of-4 shooting in 21 minutes off the bench on Friday. He was playing against his former team (Warriors), but didn't do much, while also committing four turnovers. Patrick Beverley is locked in as the starter for now, but Lin should be better than this on most nights, and is probably still not fully recovered from his knee injury.

Jeremy Lin returned from a six-game absence on Thursday, playing just 15 minutes for five points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. His knee sprain kept him out of the lineup since Nov. 27, so the he'll get the built-in rust excuse here. Lin was excelling off the bench before going down, averaging 14.8 points, 4.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 triples on 51.3 percent from the field in eight outings this season. Things should get better on Friday when he takes on the Warriors.

Jeremy Lin (knee) returned to practice on Tuesday and continues to target a return on Thursday vs. the Blazers. Lin was playing very well before the injury and his return is bad news for Aaron Brooks, who held sporadic value in his absence. It also won't help Patrick Beverley, who has averaged 8.5 points on 37 percent shooting, 1.3 three-pointers, 4.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in the six games since Lin went down.

Jeremy Lin (knee) could return to the lineup on Thursday, according to coach Kevin McHale. The Rockets play on Sunday, then get a few days off before taking on the first-place Blazers at the Moda Center on Thursday. They haven't missed Lin too badly and still rank first in the NBA in points per game on the season, and their offensive efficiency hasn't dropped too much ranking sixth in the NBA with Lin out over the last six games. That said, Lin was outstanding before going down and he should have his 30-minute, 10-shot-per-game role waiting for him.
