The second-year wing tied his career high in scoring with the performance, and it's only the second time all season Bacon has even scored in double digits. With Kemba Walker seeing increased defensive attention, other Hornets are getting a chance to pick up the slack, but even if he continues to see an increased workload off the bench, don't expect Bacon to be one of the players doing it on a regular basis.

Bacon had five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and three rebounds in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 113-89 loss to the Cavaliers.

Bacon has earned double-digit minutes twice in the last three games, though that was sandwiched by a tilt where he saw none. Thus far his best showing of the season came during last Friday's one-point overtime loss to the 76ers, a game in which Bacon fouled out in a season-high 23 minutes but contributed a season-high 15 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT) to go with one board, one dime, and one steal. Bacon and the Hornets have a few days to rest, recover, and prepare for Saturday's matchup with the 76ers.

Bacon is expected to see an uptick in playing time Tuesday against the Cavaliers, Spencer Davies of BBall Insiders reports.

Bacon has appeared in only six games so far this season, averaging 5.2 points across 8.5 minutes. Coach James Borrego stated that Bacon is going to get more playing time in Cleveland with Miles Bridges seeing more time at power forward.

Bacon did not see the floor during Thursday's 111-107 loss to the Thunder.

Bacon has appeared in only three of nine contests thus far this season, scoring seven points in both of the games that he saw more than one minute. After averaging 13.5 minutes across 53 games (including six starts) as a rookie, it seems as though Bacon will have a harder time earning minutes here in 2018-19.

Bacon has seen significant court time in Charlotte's first two preseason contests but faces an uphill battle on the depth chart. the second-year Florida state product certainly has the material to be a starter in the NBA but at the moment he'll be relegated to the second unit in the short term, limiting his overall value.

The 2017 second-round pick remained highly aggressive throughout the contest, leading all players in shot attempts and scoring. Bacon maximized his opportunities in Las Vegas, averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals, generating considerable momentum heading into his second NBA training camp.

Bacon recorded 19 points (7-18 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and an assist across27 minutes in Wednesday's 87-69 Vegas Summer League playoff win over the Warriors.

EDGE Analysis

Bacon has shown no ill effects from the ankle injury that ended his 2017 campaign. As he enters the second year of his rookie contract, Bacon will see an uphill battle to climb the depth chart for a second straight year. While the injury to Malik Monk (wrist ) will probably result in more playing time for him moving forward, it's doubtful that it'll move the needle much in relation to his prospects for the coming season.
