Wright is starting in place of the resting Kyle Lowry during Friday's game against Melbourne, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports.

EDGE Analysis

Wright is a staple off the pine for the Raptors, but will have an opportunity to show what he can do in a start. Last season, he averaged 8.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals across 20.8 minutes.

Wright finished with seven points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block in 27 minutes during Sunday's 106-98 loss to the Wizards.

EDGE Analysis

Wright once again saw some additional playing time with Fred VanVleet (shoulder) sitting on the sidelines. Despite the increase, Wright was not able to excel in his bench role as he had done earlier in the season. He did manage to contribute across the board but the Raptors are going to need more out of him and the rest of the bench if they hope to win the next two games, securing the series.

Wright had eight points (4-9 FG), nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals and two blocks in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 96-78 victory over the Celtics.

EDGE Analysis

This game was well in control, affording Wright some additional playing time. He showed what he is capable of, flirting with a triple-double while also adding a combined four defensive stats. He is not going to be this good on a nightly basis, however, the Raptors have now basically locked up the first seed in the East and rest could be coming for some of the starters. This could allow Wright to see a boost in his value, if only for one game.

Wright compiled just two points on 1-of-4 shooting, adding two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 11 minutes during Saturday's 110-99 loss to Boston.

EDGE Analysis

Wright has faded over the last four games, failing to score more than six points in any one game, while adding very little anywhere else. After a nice stretch of games, he has seen his minutes fall, making him a very hard player to own in anything but deeper leagues.

Wright contributed 10 points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block across 28 minutes during a 93-86 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Wright had another solid all-around game Tuesday in the win. He benefited from the absences of DeMar DeRozan (thigh) and Fred VanVleet (hand). Over the last five games, Wright is averaging 11.6 points on 55.0 percent shooting, 4.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.2 three-pointers per game.

Wright will return to a bench role for Sunday's matchup with the Thunder.

Wright picked up the start Friday vs. the Mavericks with Kyle Lowry getting the night off for rest, posting 15 points, five rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block across a whopping 39 minutes. It was a solid, well-rounded effort for the third-year guard, but with Lowry set to rejoin the starting five Sunday, Wright will be knocked back to the bench. Look for Wright's minutes to take a fairly decent hit, though an absence from Fred VanVleet (hand) should still provide him with some extra playing time in the backcourt.

The point guard will return to his role on the second unit, and a much smaller workload, Sunday against the Thunder.

Wright was originally ruled out for Sunday's contest while working back from a toe injury, but apparently felt healthy enough following his pregame routine to be given the go ahead to play. Look for Wright to operate in his typical bench role, though it's not clear if he'll see a full workload considering he's fresh off an injury. For that reason, he's likely someone to avoid for Sunday's DFS slate.
