The Wizards have interest in signing unrestricted free agent Darren Collison. The market seems to be dictating that Collison will have to revert back to his days as a backup. The Cavs also have interest in Collison and he's obviously not going to be unseating either of those former top picks in their respective drafts. However, both player are a bit injury prone. Collison is looking like a lock to be with a new team in 2013-14.

The Cavs have expressed interest in unrestricted free agent Darren Collison. The Mavs declined to send a qualifying offer to Collison and they're expected to let him walk. Collison has been a disappointment since leaving New Orleans as Chris Paul's back in 2010 and it's looking like he'll be a backup point guard once again. That said, he will likely be one of the best backups in the NBA.

The Mavericks declined to offer Darren Collison a $4.5 million qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. Rick Carlisle didn't hide his dissatisfaction with Collison last season, even demoting him to a backup role behind fading veterans Derek Fisher and Mike James. Collison should have plenty of interested teams in free agency but it's an open question whether he can play starter's minutes for a playoff team.

Darren Collison reiterated that he views himself as a starting point guard. Collison gave a half-hearted endorsement when asked if he wanted to return to Dallas as a restricted free agent. When asked if he'd return in a reserve role, he offered, "I'm not going to say no, because I definitely experienced it, and I'm capable of playing off the bench. At the same time, I just know who I am as a person and as a player. I'm capable of playing for any team as a starter." His free agency will be one of the more interesting offseason storylines to monitor.

Darren Collison scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting (no threes) with one rebound, eight assists, one steal and one block in 30 minutes off the bench on Friday. Collison has nudged ahead of Mike James (eight points, two assists, 18 minutes) in the position battle and is worth a look if you need point guard help.

Darren Collison shot 5-of-12 from the field for 11 points with one board, six assists, three steals and one 3-pointer against the Lakers on Tuesday. He played 29 minutes in the loss and looked better than starter Mike James (no points, two boards, four assists and two steals in 19 minutes). This is a full-blown timeshare and neither player will be a top-three scoring option for Dallas, so neither guy is worth owning in standard leagues.

Darren Collison scored eight points off the bench with one board, three assists and one steal in 23 minutes against the Bulls on Saturday. Dallas' bench was big in the win and Collison's transition game was helpful. Although, he and Mike James (five points, seven assists and two turnovers) are in a true timeshare and standard leagues owners should probably look elsewhere for help on the waiver wire.

Darren Collison, as usual, came off the bench behind Mike James and had 13 points, four assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer on 3-of-6 shooting in 25 minutes on Tuesday. Collison owners caught a break when Mike James fouled out of this one, or Collison's line wouldn't have been quite as nice. He's barely clinging to value with James starting and is far from a must-start in fantasy as long as he's coming off the bench.

The Mavericks won their second straight game behind 19 points and five assists from Mike James, who knocked down 7-of-10 shots with three 3-pointers in 32 minutes. The win pulled Dallas even with Utah at 34-36, though both teams still trail the eighth-place Lakers by 1.5 games. Rick Carlisle has an affinity for James' veteran leadership and there are no indications that Darren Collison (13 points, five assists) will retake the starting PG job this season.

Darren Collison, who blew up for 24 points and five assists on 10-of-14 shooting on Monday, had just eight points and three assists in 20 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Nets. This was the Collison we've seen a lot more often recently, as the one with the big line on Monday was more of a fluke. As long as Collison is coming off the bench behind Mike James for Dallas, he's going to be tough to start in fantasy lineups.
