After a red-hot January, Collison is coming back to earth. In his last five games, he's shot just 38.9 percent from the field. Mike James did take some of his minutes down the stretch, but there's not much to worry about. He's still worth owning in all leagues and hopefully he'll have a better outing against the Bucks on Tuesday.

As a consequence, Carlisle has been extra demanding as he tries to infuse his team with some much-needed energy. If Dallas trades for a point guard (like Brandon Jennings) before the deadline, Collison's value will tank. But for now, he should be started in fantasy leagues.

Collison did not hit a three and his job is seemingly in jeopardy all the time, but for now he has been productive and isn't facing any threats on the current roster. If owners can slide by the trade deadline without the Mavs acquiring another point guard, they might be on to something.

The Mavericks ran past the Warriors on Saturday as Darren Collison scored 18 points with four rebounds and eight assists, making 5-of-9 FGs and 5-of-5 FTs. The Warriors were playing their fourth game in five nights and Andrew Bogut wasn't playing as a precaution, so the Mavericks wisely pushed the ball and attacked the paint at every opportunity. Collison was coming off two quiet games so hopefully this will rev his engines for Monday's showdown with Jeff Teague and the Hawks.

In the month of January, he shot 50 percent from the field, which ranks fourth among starting point guards. Collison was also very accurate from the charity stripe in January, converting 93 percent of his attempts. He's not making a huge splash in fantasy, but he was a top-12 point guard in the month of January in standard leagues. He should be in all lineups.

Collison looked great tonight and played well enough to keep Roddy Beaubois on the bench for most of the night. Collison is still an excellent fantasy point guard option, but with rumors of a third team getting involved in a trade that would send Rudy Gay to the Raptors, Collison's owners have to hope Jose Calderon doesn't land in Dallas.
