Baron Davis said his latest setback was triggered by an elbow infection. According to Davis, the elbow infection caused pain in his troublesome back. We're not really sure how the two are related, but the bottom line is that the Knicks are not expecting Davis to debut anytime before the All-Star break. Jeremy Lin is their starting point guard for now.

Baron Davis (back) has had another setback with his recovery and is out indefinitely. The Knicks are not expecting Davis anytime before the Feb. 23 All-Star break. He's not practicing, leading to concerns that his conditioning will further deteriorate. Even if Davis does make it back onto the floor this season, he remains a poor bet to sustain health at age 32. Jeremy Lin has been installed as the Knicks' starting point guard.

Coach Mike D'Antoni does not expect Baron Davis (back) to debut this week. No surprise here. Davis has had multiple setbacks and issues with his herniated disc. We can't safely project any kind of realistic target date. Jeremy Lin was named the Knicks' starting point guard on Monday.

The "best-case scenario" for Baron Davis' return is next week, according to coach Mike D'Antoni. Davis' situation is growing less clear by the day. He isn't practicing with contact and continues to have trouble with his herniated disks. Even when/if he gets cleared, the chances of Davis sustaining health in this compacted schedule appear slim.

Baron Davis (back) was unable to practice on Wednesday due to back soreness. Not good for an aging point guard rehabbing from a herniated disc. Davis' timetable has been all over the place, but the chances of him playing before next week at the earliest appear very slim. At this point, even next week might be an optimistic outlook for B-Diddy. He couldn't take contact due to soreness in his back, meaning Iman Shumpert and Toney Douglas will continue to see extended run at point guard for the foreseeable future.

Baron Davis (conditioning) is doubtful to play on Tuesday. This is no surprise since a report on Friday said he might not make his debut "for another week or two." He's been inactive for nearly nine months and is simply working himself into game shape.

Baron Davis isn't expected to make his Knicks debut "for another week or two," according to the NY Times. Davis is physically healthy but his conditioning isn't good enough for game action, as he's been out of commission for nine months. This stings for all those owners who have him stashed away, and puts even more pressure on the reeling Knicks, who are 7-13 as we near the 1/3 mark of the shortened season.

Baron Davis (back) will not play on Friday. Davis is not quite ready to take the floor yet, and our guess is that he debuts some time next week, possibly on Tuesday. He'll start at point guard whenever he's ready to go, but his timetable remains fluid.

After back-to-back games, Baron Davis (back) and the other Knicks reserves are expected to take place in an informal workout on Thursday. According to Howard Beck of the New York Times, Davis probably won't play on Friday or Saturday, but may be in line to return on Tuesday. After some early reports that he could return as early as this week, Boom Dizzle has taken a little longer than expected to return to the lineup. Stay tuned.

Baron Davis (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game. There was some hope that Davis would make his Knicks debut against the Cavs on Wednesday, but he's not quite ready. Iman Shumpert and the streaking Landry Fields (15.8 points in his last four games) should see extensive minutes again in the backcourt, with Davis' next chance to suit up coming on Friday against Miami.
