Baron Davis is expected to make his Knicks debut Monday.
With Iman Shumpert (knee) out, Davis is going to serve as the backup point guard. Coach Mike D'Antoni had previously said that Baron would only play in garbage time this week. We wouldn't expect more than a fistful of minutes.

Coach Mike D'Antoni said Baron Davis will only see minutes in garbage time over the next three games.
Davis is active and ready to play, but there's no room to ease him in right now. The veteran may need a Jeremy Lin injury to accrue significant minutes at any point this season.

Baron Davis was active for the first time this season but did not play on Sunday against the Mavericks.
Davis was hoping to make his season debut against the defending champions, but it wasn't meant to be. Sunday's contest was close throughout, which probably played a role in coach Mike D'Antoni's decision to hold him out. There is a good chance we will see Davis on Monday against the Nets, although nothing is official yet. Fantasy owners should avoid Davis at this point.

Baron Davis expects to make his season debut on Sunday vs. the Mavericks.
"It will be a good chance for me to get some minutes," he said. "I want to get out there and see where I am, what I need to work on, what's bothering me and the things I need to correct." Fantasy owners should leave him on the waiver wire unless he gives us a compelling reason to change our stance.

Baron Davis (back) played 3-on-3 again on Saturday and could play as soon as Monday vs. the Nets.
Although it sounds like Baron will actually return this time, he's not a tempting pickup with Jeremy Lin in command at PG and J.R. Smith entering the rotation. Also, the odds of his getting re-injured are really high.

Baron Davis reportedly played 3-on-3 on Friday and is nearing a return for the Knicks after sitting out all season with several different ailments, including a balky back and infected elbow.
Davis might get some backup point guard minutes if he proves he's healthy enough to play, but with Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith and Davis all ready to come back in the midst of the Knicks on an incredible hot streak, only Melo is guaranteed heavy minutes. And for the record, this is Jeremy Lin's team now, meaning Davis is now an afterthought. Leave him on waivers for now.

Baron Davis (back) did not practice Monday.
The daily Davis questions have stopped now that Jeremy Lin has taken over. Even if Davis was surprisingly able to get to 100 percent and sustain health, he's an extreme longshot to take over for Lin.

Baron Davis resumed working out this week, but he hasn't been cleared for contact and there is no timetable for his return.
The emergence of Jeremy Lin has made Baron an afterthought, and Alan Hahn writes that "it's as if [Davis] is starting all over again [in his rehab]." Given his poor health and conditioning, he's not worth clogging up a bench spot in average leagues.

Baron Davis recently underwent blood-spinning therapy, according to DeShawn Stevenson.
Stevenson, Baron and Gilbert Arenas all went to the same doctor, and presumably Baron had the therapy performed on his knees. Baron just got over an infected elbow but his conditioning is poor and his back is a constant threat -- with the rise of Jeremy Lin, Baron is an even less appealing stash.

Baron Davis said that his infected elbow "has been taken care of," but doesn't expect to practice this week.
It's been the same swan song for Davis all season. After multiple reports that he was close to a debut, it sounds like B-Diddy was never all that close to seeing game action. Davis says that the rest has helped, but the Knicks aren't expecting him back before the All-Star break. With Linsanity taking over New York, the Knicks won't rush Davis back until he's 100 percent healthy.
