Baron Davis (back) will miss 8-10 weeks at a minimum according to his agent.
This sounds on the surface like a death blow to his season, with an outside shot at ending his career. Davis isn't known for his conditioning and back injuries require one to keep body weight down, stay in shape, and the like. Davis certainly shouldn't be drafted, and as usual keep your eye on him if he ever gets healthy.

Alan Hahn of Newsday reported Wednesday that there is mutual interest between the Knicks and recently waived Baron Davis.
Davis will need to clear waivers to land in their lap, but he would be an immediate upgrade over Mike Bibby and put a big dent in Toney Douglas' value as long as he is healthy. If Davis lands in New York, it will be interesting to see how quickly his back heals up.

Baron Davis (back) was waived on Wednesday as the Cavs decided to use their one-time amnesty clause.
We had all but ruled out early season production for Davis, but owners may want to keep an early eye on him to see if the injury was transaction related. Davis will be bid upon by teams under the cap and go to the highest bidder. Kyrie Irving is setup to play as many minutes as he can handle.

Baron Davis is out indefinitely due to a herniated disc in his back.
Davis was already a player to avoid in drafts due to his injury history and the presence of Kyrie Irving, but this just makes the red flag even more glaring. We wouldn't rule out Davis having value at some point down the road in Cleveland or elsewhere, but Kyrie Irving is the Cavs PG to own at the outset of the year, with Ramon Sessions expected to back him up.

Baron Davis may have a herniated disc in his back.
If that is the case, there is cause for serious concern regarding Davis' status for the upcoming campaign. The point guard is getting a second opinion on the issue and we should hear before long what the final diagnosis is for the veteran. It's not an ideal way for Davis' season to begin.

The Knicks are said to be interested in PG Baron Davis.
Davis has been sidelined with a back injury and could still be waived, traded or bought out by the Cavs. Don't be surprised to see him in New York at some point this season.

Baron Davis is getting a second opinion on his ailing back.
Davis has been sidelined for three straight days and it doesn't appear the issue is getting any better. GM Chris Grant said that no matter the diagnosis, it will not weigh into the team's decision as to whether or not to use the amnesty clause on him.

Baron Davis (back) missed his third straight day of Cavs practice on Sunday.
Despite a report that Davis was going to be an amnesty cut by Cleveland, it hasn't happened yet and the Cavs insist there has been no decision made on Davis' future. The window to use the clause expires Friday, and Davis may want to seek a buyout in order to become an unrestricted free agent and choose his next team.

The back soreness that kept Baron Davis from Friday's practice was thought to potentially be for business reasons, but coach Byron Scott described Davis' situation as it pertained to a "conditioning run."
"I've seen a whole lot of guys get tightness of the back or an Achilles or hamstrings or calves doing that drill," Scott said. "I'm not concerned about it yet." What Scott didn't say is that he cut the drill in half of its normal length, and it looks like we're looking at out-of-shape Baron to start the year. It's not a surprise, but a slow start is all but certain and his fantasy prospects are dwindling. Davis is an amnesty possibility for the Cavs.

Baron Davis was held from Cavs practice on Friday due to a back injury.
It's interesting because we still don't know whether or not Davis will be amnestied, but if we had to guess we'd say he will be and his absence affirms that. Davis also mentioned today that he'd be willing to backup rookie Kyrie Irving in a role off the bench.
