Andrei Kirilenko said he has "no problem" coming off the bench this season.
Kirilenko admitted that at first, he was concerned about his role on the Nets' deep roster. But after talking to coach Jason Kidd, he feels good about it. The Nets will start Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez. They'll have Jason Terry, Reggie Evans, Andray Blatche and Alan Anderson and Kirilenko as bench players. All this talent is going to cap fantasy upside across the board.

Andrei Kirilenko said Thursday he has no regrets about opting out his contract with the Timberwolves.
Kirilenko opted out of a $10.2 million salary for 2013-14. He eventually ended up signing a one-year, $3.1 million deal with Brooklyn, which brought out rumors of an illegal side deal with Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov. Kirilenko acknowledged he thought in the past about playing for the Nets because they were owned by a Russian, but he denied there was any sort of secondary or backdoor dealings. Kirilenko is expected to be the primary backup to Paul Pierce this season and probably won't have a ton of fantasy value.

The Nets signed Andrei Kirilenko to a one-year, $3.1 million contract, according to Peter Vescey.
Nets beat writer Stefan Bondy also confirmed the shocking news. Kirilenko opted out of a $10.2 million salary for 2013-14 in search of a multiyear deal, but the market for him dried up after the Timberwolves wouldn't agree to sign-and-trades with OKC and the Spurs. Kirilenko is a huge get for a Nets team that was seriously lacking depth after they traded for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. He'll likely be Pierce's primary backup but could still see 20 to 25 minutes a night.

The Spurs, Kings, Nets and Cavs are showing interest in Andrei Kirilenko, according to Pro Basketball Draft.
The Spurs previously attempted to workout a sign-and-trade for Kirilenko, but the Wolves weren't interested in facilitating. Also, the Nets and Cavs aren't financially flush to the point where they could meet Kirilenko's price as a free agent. The Kings make sense after letting Tyreke Evans go to New Orleans and Kirilenko would definitely be an upgrade over what they have on the wing now.

There's nothing happening between the Nets and Andrei Kirilenko, a source tells Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.
The Spurs and Thunder both attempted to work out a sign-and-trade with the Wolves for Kirilenko, but Wolves GM Flip Saunders wasn't biting. Kirilenko opted out of a $10.2 million salary for next season but is more focused on landing a multiyear deal at this point in his career, which makes the Nets an unlikely fit.

The Spurs were unable to work out a sign-and-trade deal for free agent Andrei Kirilenko because Wolves GM Flip Saunders didn't want to help him find another home.
Saunders was equally stingy with the Thunder, who sought a trade exception, when he denied a sign-and-trade after Kevin Martin left for the Wolves. Ironically, it's Denver now that doesn't want to sign-and-trade Corey Brewer to the Wolves, as the shoe moves anticlimactically to the other foot.

The Spurs may no longer be pursuing Andrei Kirilenko.
After reaching contract agreements with Marco Belinelli and Jeff Pendergraph, the Spurs have at least 13 players under guaranteed contracts (14 if they retain RFA Gary Neal). They'd also need to convince Kirilenko that he'll get enough playing time with Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, Manu Ginobili and Belinelli on the wings, and AK is seeking a multi-year investment the Spurs likely won't make.

Unrestricted free agent Andrei Kirilenko is not an option for the Kings, Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reports.
The Kings aren't exactly having a big offseason. They lost Tyreke Evans and whiffed on their chance to sign Andre Iguodala. As for AK-47, he's looking for a multi-year contract with a team and he should find one soon now that most of the big names are off the market.

Darren Wolfson is reporting that it is likely that the Timberwolves will renounce its rights to Andrei Kirilenko after signing SG Kevin Martin on Tuesday.
The Wolves will pay Martin $7 million per year which means they simply can't afford Kirilenko. He's already an unrestricted free agent, but there was hope that the Wolves would bring him back. That will not be happening, putting newly signed Chase Budinger on the inside track to start at SF this season.

The Spurs reportedly have interest in signing unrestricted FA Andrei Kirilenko.
ESPN's Marc Stein reports that "[the] Spurs have AK-47 in their sights." Kirilenko said in a recent interview that he hopes to play "at a high level for at least three more seasons" and it's no secret that he opted out of his deal with the Wolves to secure a multi-year contract. The Spurs have enough salary-cap flexibility to make a legitimate offer, but they'd also need to convince him that he'd have a big role since Kawhi Leonard is already the starting SF.
