Brooks sat out of Monday's practice with a hip injury and is questionable for Tuesday's preseason opener versus the Pelicans, Nate Taylor of Indy Star Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks was reportedly held out for "precautionary reasons", so the injury likely isn't serious and the Pacers are just playing it safe with their 31-year-old guard. He's currently listed as questionable for Tuesday's preseason opener, although we'll likely have to wait for a final status following the team's morning shootaround. Brooks is slated to open up the season backing up Jeff Teague at point guard, meaning his minutes load will likely remain limited once the regular season arrives.

Pacers coach Nate McMillan confirmed last week that Brooks will likely enter the season as a member of the rotation, Pacers.com's Mark Montieth reports.
EDGE Analysis
McMillan indicated the Pacers would open with a nine-man rotation, with Brooks and Rodney Stuckey representing the top two backcourt options off the bench. It's expected that Brooks will act as the primary backup to Jeff Teague, which could leave around 15-to-20 minutes for him each night. That's likely not enough playing time for Brooks to make a splash in the fantasy realm, so he won't be worth drafting in most formats.

Brooks agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Pacers on Monday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The eight-year veteran has spent the last two seasons backing up Derrick Rose with the Bulls and is coming off a 2015-16 campaign where he posted averages of 7.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists over 16 minutes per game. Brooks will join the Pacers as depth at point guard and will likely share a backup role with Rodney Stuckey. However, Brooks shouldn't see a huge jump in minutes despite the change in scenery, so his fantasy value may remain a bit restricted.

Brooks played 69 games for the Bulls last season and averaged 7.1 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 three-pointers and 0.4 steals over 16.1 minutes per game. He shot 40.1 percent from the field and, 35.7 percent from behind the arc and 76.6 percent from the charity stripe.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks provided the Bulls with a veteran backup off the bench, but wasn't a major contributor even with starter Derrick Rose battling injuries throughout the season. Brooks is a free agent this summer and is questionable to return with the Bulls considering they have already traded for Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant and Spencer Dinwiddie.

Brooks came off the bench to provide 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt), six assists, four rebounds and a steal in 23 minutes during Monday's loss to the Hawks.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran was a spark off the bench Monday, as he scored his most points since the first of the month and delivered his highest assist total during that span as well. Despite Monday's performance, Brooks remains a reserve option and will likely continue to provide inconsistent production from game to game.

Brooks contributed two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-2 FT), six assists, three rebounds, and one steal in 15 minutes during the Bulls' 109-102 victory versus the Kings on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks committed two turnovers, but it was a decent performance in limited playing time. With Kirk Hinrich no longer on the roster, Brooks is the lone backup point guard for the Bulls. Still, Derrick Rose has been playing well lately, and Brooks likely won't see many minutes unless Rose suffers an injury.

Brooks (knee) will be available Wednesday against the Spurs, KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks was dealing with right knee tendinitis that limited him to only four minutes Monday against Milwaukee, but after taking it easy in practice the last two days, he'll be available off the bench for coach Fred Hoiberg on Thursday. Brooks' fantasy value in most formats is very limited, as he closed the month of February averaging just 15.2 minutes per game.

Brooks (knee) was spotted putting up shots at Tuesday's practice, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran relayed that the right knee tendinitis that knocked him out of Monday's win over the Bucks isn't anything too concerning, so there seems to be a strong likelihood that he'll be available for Thursday's tilt with the Spurs. We'll continue to list Brooks on the injury report until the Bulls formally clear him to play.

Brooks will not return to Monday's matchup with the Bucks due to right patellar tendonitis, Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of this injury is still unknown, so Brooks will have to be considered day-to-day going forward. He left Monday's game with only one turnover in four minutes of action. His next opportunity to play will be Thursday against the Spurs. Expect an update on his status when more information becomes available.

Brooks provided 16 points (5-15 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, and one assist across 22 minutes in Tuesday's 129-111 loss to the Heat.
EDGE Analysis
Though Derrick Rose (knee) was back in action following a brief absence, Brooks actually saw his court time rise from the previous game, as coach Fred Hoiberg elected to reduce E'Twaun Moore's minutes. It's uncertain if this will become a trend, however, and Brooks didn't exactly restore much confidence in his abilities by sinking only one third of his shots. At this point, it's probably wise to just let Brooks sit on the wire for now in most formats, as this was only his second double-digit scoring outing in his last 15 games.
