Darvish (back) may not make his next scheduled start as he deals with back tightness, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Jayce Tingler said Darvish didn't recover from Thursday's short start as quickly as they hoped. The righty hasn't been placed on the injured list, but that remains a possibility if he doesn't improve in the coming days. More information about Darvish's back and when he might pitch next should become clear in the coming days.

Darvish was removed from Thursday's start against the Diamondbacks with lower back tightness.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish exited his outing with the team's head training after struggling through 2.2 innings. It could be viewed as a positive that his removal wasn't related to the left hip inflammation that sidelined him in July, though it's unclear how serious this injury may be.

Darvish exited Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks with a team trainer, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish struggled prior to exiting, as he allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits and one walk across 2.2 innings. Acee noted that Darvish looked uncomfortable throughout his start, which the results certainly reflect. It's unclear if there is an injury or what the issue may be, though it is worth noting that Darvish was sidelined by left hip inflammation in July.

Darvish didn't factor into the decision during Saturday's 6-2 victory over Arizona, allowing two runs on four hits with 12 strikeouts in seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish limited the damage to a Christian Walker second-inning two-run home run and scattered only two more hits across the other six innings in an excellent rebound outing. Though he didn't earn the win, this was Darvish's first quality start since June and the 12 strikeouts tie his season high. The veteran righty will look to build on the solid performance as he lines up to face the Snakes again next weekend.

Darvish (7-6) lost Saturday's 5-3 contest with Colorado, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Like much of July, Darvish struggled in this one, surrendering three home runs and five total runs for his fourth time allowing at least four runs in five starts this month. It was the All-Star's fourth loss of July and Darvish's ERA has climbed more than a full run from 2.44 to 3.48 in the stretch. He'll look to get back on track next weekend against the lowly Diamondbacks.

Darvish (7-5) allowed four runs on five hits and a walk over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Miami.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish coughed up a pair of solo homers to Deven Marrero and Brian Anderson in the third and fourth innings. He then gave up a pair of RBI base hits in the fifth. The veteran right-hander is 0-3 in his last four outings, giving up 16 runs in 19.2 innings (7.32 ERA) during that span. Darvish is now sporting a 3.27 ERA and a 134:27 K:BB through 115.2 frames. Darvish (7-4) took the loss Tuesday as the Padres were downed 2-1 by Atlanta, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old was locked in a surprising pitchers' duel with Touki Toussaint, and when Freddie Freeman broke a 1-1 tie with an opposite-field solo shot in the sixth inning, it tagged Darvish with his second loss in three July starts. He has a 7.36 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 2.5 HR/9 over 14.2 innings on the month, but he'll get a chance to turn things in his next scheduled outing, a road tilt in Miami this weekend.

Darvish won't make his scheduled start Monday against the Braves, as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish will have his start moved to Tuesday, per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune. This puts the possibility for a two-start week in jeopardy, though the Padres have yet to solidify their pitching plans for later in the week.

Darvish (hip) was activated from the 10-day injured list and will start Monday in Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander last pitched July 8 and exited that start early with back and hip tightness, but he's ready to pitch after a brief stint on the injured list. Darvish in effect only ended up pushed back a few days in the rotation thanks to his absence coinciding with the All-Star break. He has a 3.09 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 125:24 K:BB across 105 innings this season.

Darvish (hip) completed a bullpen session Saturday and remains on track to start Monday against the Braves, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish described the bullpen session as "strong" and indicated that he's "100 percent" and "ready to go Monday." The right-hander also explained that he was dealing with an illness prior to his last start, saying, "I felt it in my head. The next two days I was feeling good. But the day of my start, right before the game I went to the bullpen, I started to feel a little like achy in my body." The illness may have been a factor in his poor outing and the Padres' subsequent decision to place him on the injured list, though left hip inflammation was the official diagnosis. Now that the hip is better and Darvish is past the illness, he should have no restrictions when he starts at Atlanta on Monday.
