Alonso went 2-for-4 in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran extended his June hot streak, tallying his fourth multi-hit effort over the last five games. Alonso had failed to accomplish the feat in the 18 games prior, as he's largely struggled during his first season in an A's uniform. However, the tide appears to be turning in June, as Alonso is now hitting .455 (10-for-22) with three doubles, two RBI and three walks during the month, already raising his average 31 points in the process.

Alonso went 3-for-5 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
It was a rare offensive outburst for the veteran third baseman, who's struggled throughout the season. Alonso is still hitting just .222 after Saturday's effort, with that figure representing a 47-point dip from this career .269 average. The performance was his first multi-hit outing since back on May 13 versus the Rays, and he still has just one homer and nine doubles overall over his 162 at-bats on the season.

Alonso is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The A's are stacking their lineup with right-handers Wednesday as they face lefty Pat Dean and the Twins. With that, Alonso will take a seat in place of the right-handed Billy Butler, who has a .293 average and .789 OPS against southpaws this season.

Alonso is out of the lineup Friday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The A's are in really rough shape at first base, as Alonso, who has been the starter for most of the season, is hitting just .230/.282/.320 on the season. The team is willing to deploy the defensively challenged Billy Butler at first Friday, which shows just how bad things have gotten.

Alonso is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Although it's his second day off in a row, it comes as no surprise considering tough lefty Cole Hamels is taking the ball for Texas. Alonso may also be out of Wednesday's game if the A's decide to keep him out against lefties, but that should become clear once Wednesday's lineup is revealed. For Tuesday, Billy Butler will man first base in Alonso's place.

Alonso is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game with the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Alonso has really picked things up at the plate as of late, collecting nine hits over the past seven games, but he'll head to the bench with left-hander Derek Holland taking the mound for Texas. Billy Butler will man first base in his stead.

Alonso went 3-for-4 in Friday's 6-3 victory over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Although all three hits were singles, they continued a resurgent month for Alonso. He's now working on an eight-game hitting streak, and his slashing .351/.429/.486 over 37 May at-bats. He's also starting to make harder contact, as he's posted five of his eight two-baggers on the season during the month.

Alonso crushed a three-run walk-off homer on Friday night against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was Alonso's first as an Athletic and the three RBI doubled his total for the season. Alsono has had a very rough start to the season, hitting .174 with a .466 OPS through his first 69 at-bats. His defense, and past history of decent offense (career .719 OPS), will keep him in the lineup whenever the A's face a right-handed pitcher.

Alonso is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
With Alonso managing just five singles and a double through his first 46 at-bats, Mark Canha will start Thursday's game at first base, even though the A's will face a right-handed starter. If he doesn't turns things around soon, Alonso may lose more at-bats to Canha, who already figures to get a good chunk of the playing time against southpaws.

Alonso was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 5-3 victory over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old came in to Saturday's contest in a slump of mammoth proportions, having tallied only two hits in his first 33 at-bats of the season. The two singles he managed were therefore a vastly welcome sight for the offseason acquisition, who managed a solid .282/.361/.381 line over 402 plate appearances with the Padres in 2015. While Saturday's production only served to up his average to a measly .139, it's possible the success he encountered could jump start his normally reliable bat.
