Wily Peralta held the Angels to one earned run over six innings Tuesday in a 6-1 spring victory.
Peralta surrendered six hits, but he walked none and struck out two. The talented young right-hander owns a 3.48 ERA in 10 1/3 Cactus League innings and should open the 2013 season as the Brewers' fifth starter.

Wily Peralta allowed three runs in 2 1/3 innings in the loss to the Reds Saturday.
Peralta is fighting for a spot in the Brewers rotation, so Saturday's outing will count as a setback. The 23-year-old right-hander surrendered six hits and a walk while striking out two in his 2 1/3 innings. If Peralta is able to win a starting spot, he's an intriguing late-round option for fantasy purposes.

Wily Peralta tossed two scoreless innings in Thursday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.
Making his spring debut, Peralta gave up two hits while striking out none and walking none. The 23-year-old right-hander had a 2.48 ERA and 23/11 K/BB ratio over 29 innings in his first taste of the majors last year and should be worth using in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues assuming he secures a rotation spot this spring.

Wily Peralta has yet to face live hitters in Brewers' camp after reporting some stiffness following his first spring training bullpen session.
The area of the stiffness wasn't specified, but the Brewers don't seem to be concerned. Manager Ron Roenicke said that they can afford to take things slowly with the young right-hander since he isn't participating in the World Baseball Classic. Peralta, 23, is a favorite to grab one of the final spots in Milwaukee's rotation.

According to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke "hinted strongly" that Wily Peralta will make the team's rotation.
"Peralta has a huge upside," Roenicke said. "If he pitches like he did a few of those games last year, he's got a huge upside." Only Yovani Gallardo and Marco Estrada are locked into rotation spots for the Brewers, and Chris Narveson will likely have a spot as long as he's healthy. Michael Fiers, Mark Rogers and Peralta are the main competitors to round out the rotation. Peralta had an up-and-down year at Triple-A Nashville in 2012, posting a 4.66 ERA over 28 starts, but he held a 2.48 mark in 29 innings for the big club. The 23-year-old holds mixed league intrigue should he crack the Opening Day rotation.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke confirmed Saturday that Wily Peralta (arm) will not make another strart.
The impressive rookie right-hander left Thursday's start against the Reds with right biceps tendinitis. He was able to play catch without issue on Friday, but it appears the Brewers want to play it on the safe side. He'll finish with a 2-1 record, 2.48 ERA and 23/11 K/BB ratio over 29 innings, and should open 2013 in the Brewers' rotation.

An MRI on Wily Peralta's right arm came back clean.
Peralta left Thursday's start against the Reds with right biceps tendinitis, but he was able to play catch Friday after doctors gave him a clean bill of health. "I was really happy that he wasn't real sore today," said Brewers manager Ron Roenicke. "He still felt it a little bit, but he wasn't very sore, which is very encouraging. He saw the doctors and everybody says he is fine, physically." He could still start Tuesday if the Brewers are still in the race, but they won't take any chances with one of the organization's most promising arms.

Wily Peralta was hammered in Saturday's loss to the Nationals, giving up three runs on five hits in just 2 2/3 innings of work.
He also walked four and struck out four in the brief outing. All of the damage came in the three-run third inning, highlighted by RBI doubles from Bryce Harper and Adam LaRoche. The loss was the first in the young right-hander's major league career. Even with the rough outing, Peralta still owns a 2-1 record, 3.04 ERA and 17/10 K/BB ratio in 23 2/3 innings on the season. He'll look to get back on track when he takes on the Reds in Cincinnati on Thursday.
