Lyons was recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Monday, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports. Lyons will likely serve out of the bullpen for the Cardinals. He doesn't have sparkling numbers at any level this year, but struggled the most in his first stint with the big league club, posting a 5.46 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 28 innings. He fared a little better in minors, dropping his ERA to 4.43, enough to get him another opportunity with the Cardinals. With the poor pitching of Justin Masterson as of late and both Carlos Martinez and now Lyons in the bullpen it's possible, though unlikely, that the Cardinals make a switch in the rotation.
