Tyler Lyons is expected to be called up from Triple-A Memphis to start in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Pirates. Lyons has a 5.51 ERA in six starts with the Cardinals this season, but he has pitched well in Triple-A recently. He's not to be trusted in mixed fantasy leagues, though.

Cardinals optioned LHP Tyler Lyons to Triple-A Memphis. Lyons didn't make it out of the second inning against the Rangers on Friday, and had a 5.51 ERA in six starts. Michael Blazek has been called up to replace him on the active roster.

Tyler Lyons struggled Friday against the Rangers, giving up four runs over just 1 2/3 innings. Lyons allowed six out of the 11 batters he faced to reach base, as he gave up three hits and three walks. With a 5.51 ERA through six starts, the Cardinals will likely explore other options for the rotation moving forward. Joe Kelly tossed five innings in relief of Lyons on Friday and is an obvious candidate to replace him, although the Cardinals could maneuver their rotation next week thanks to two scheduled off-days.

Tyler Lyons is expected to start on Friday against the Rangers. There had been some speculation that Lyons could be replaced by Joe Kelly or Carlos Martinez or someone else, but it appears the lefty will get another shot. He's struggled the last three times out and should be avoided against the Rangers for fantasy purposes.

Tyler Lyons was knocked around for six runs on eight hits and three walks over just 5 1/3 frames in Sunday's loss to the Marlins. Lyons managed to strike out six, but he had little command all day, and the weak-hitting Marlins had little trouble squaring him up. After a couple great starts to begin his big league career, Lyons has now allowed 16 runs over his last three outings. The Cardinals could look to replace him with Michael Wacha or Carlos Martinez soon. As it stands right now, he's slated to take the ball on Friday against the Rangers. Fantasy owners should steer clear.

Tyler Lyons will start Saturday against the Marlins. With Jake Westbrook (elbow) coming off the disabled list, the Cardinals opted to send Michael Wacha down to Triple-A Memphis and keep Lyons in the rotation. The southpaw has a 3.51 ERA and 14/5 K/BB ratio in 25 2/3 innings over his first four starts in the big leagues and should be worth using in NL-only leagues for the matchup.

Tyler Lyons allowed four runs over 5 1/3 innings Saturday in the Cardinals' loss to the Reds. Lyons gave up solo home runs to Jay Bruce and Devin Mesoraco, and was charged with both of the Reds' runs in the decisive bottom of the sixth. Lyons still has a cool 3.51 ERA and 0.97 WHIP this season but he's prone to blowups because his raw stuff is not very deceptive. The rookie left-hander will face the Marlins next.

Tyler Lyons was charged with four runs on eight hits and two walks over 6 1/3 frames in Sunday's loss to the Giants. He struck out only three. Lyons exited with two runners on in the seventh and the game tied, but Randy Choate then served up a game-winning, two-run double to Brandon Belt. The young southpaw has pitched much better than expected since his arrival, but he'll be hard to trust next weekend in Cincinnati.

Tyler Lyons held the Royals to one run over seven innings in the Cardinals' 4-1 win on Tuesday. Pitching in the majors is not supposed to be as easy as Lyons has made it look through two starts. The left-hander is now 2-0 while allowing just two runs over his first 14 major-league innings. It's still unclear how long Lyons will remain with the big club, but when he's pitching like this it's hard to imagine the Cardinals doing anything but trotting him back out there in five days. His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Giants.
