May gave up three earned runs with four walks and one strikeout in 4.2 innings in Monday's loss to Kansas City. May has struggled in his three outings in the majors as he's given up nine runs in nine innings with an ugly 3:13 K:BB ratio. However, it sounds like the Twins will keep him in the rotation for at least another start so he can try to adjust to the majors.

May gave up two runs over 2.1 innings with two strikeouts and two walks in a relief appearance in Tuesday's loss to the Astros. He was available in the bullpen with his next start not until Monday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. The good news is that May is still part of the rotation despite a relief appearance. The bad news is May has now given up six runs and nine walks in four innings in the majors. His poor two outings could have the Twins reconsider his next start, but the Twins likely want to get him major league experience the next few weeks.

May couldn't find the plate in his Major League debut, allowing four runs on three hits while walking seven over just two innings of a 9-4 loss to Oakland on Saturday night. It was a much anticipated arrival for May who had a smashing season in Triple-A, but he needed 63 pitches (only 28 for strikes) to collect six outs. May has never been known as a control wizard, and Oakland is one of the most patient teams at the plate, but first game jitters were also likely a factor. It hasn't been announced whether he will remain in the rotation, but if he does he would likely face the Royals in Minnesota next time out.

May was recalled from Triple-A Rochester and will start Saturday against Oakland. It was reported earlier in the day that he'd be called up to start, but now it's official. May advanced to the Triple-A level this season and posted a 2.93 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 8.6 K/9 in 17 starts (95.1 innings). There's a good chance he'll remain the starting rotation the rest of the season.

May will start Saturday against the A's. Anthony Swarzak's deployment in relief Wednesday in effect locked May in to start Saturday, but the team confirmed that the 24-year-old will indeed be up to make his major league debut. A fourth-round pick out of high school in 2008, May advanced to the Triple-A level this season and posted a 2.93 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 8.6 K/9 in 17 starts (95.1 innings). He'll oppose right-hander Jeff Samardzija in Oakland.

Twins prospect right-hander Trevor May was dominant on Monday, striking out 11 batters over 8 1/3 innings, allowing three hits, two walks, and one run for Triple-A Rochester. May dominated a lineup that included Mookie Betts, Shane Victorino, Will Middlebrooks, and Garin Cecchini, and was going for the complete game shutout, but after getting the first batter in the ninth inning, he walked Betts and Mike McCoy, then allowed a single to Cecchini. He was replaced with Aaron Shaw, who closed out the game. May has been dominant since mid-May, holding opposing batters to a .188/.268/.273 line over his last seven starts which have spanned 45 2/3 innings.

Twins right-handed pitching prospect Trevor May threw seven shutout innings, scattering four singles and two walks while striking out four batters for Triple-A Rochester on Saturday. Opposing batters are hitting .196/.274/.281 against May for the season. He has a 2.62 ERA, a 1.109 WHIP, and 8.8 K/9 for the season. If he keeps this up and the Twins have a need, he could be pitching at Target Field later this summer.

Twins prospect RHP Trevor May had another strong start Sunday, allowing a hit and a walk in six scoreless innings for Triple-A Rochester. The 24-year-old struck out four batters in the outing. Despite surrendering four runs in his previous start, May has enjoyed a solid start to the season, as he owns a 2.93 ERA and 16/3 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 15 1/3 innings. The biggest question with May has always been his ability to consistently throw strikes, but that hasn't been an issue so far this season. If he keeps it up, May could get a chance to prove he belongs in the major leagues this year earlier than expected.

Twins prospect RHP Trevor May was impressive in his Triple-A debut on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits with eight strikeouts in five innings for Triple-A Rochester. May was acquired from the Phillies last offseason in the Ben Revere deal, but struggled in his first year with the organization, posting a 4.51 ERA and 159/67 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 151 2/3 innings at Double-A New Britain. Nobody has ever questioned the 24-year-old's ability to miss bats, but his lack of control and command has lead to a slow rise through the minor leagues. If his inaugural start is a sign of what's to come this season, then May could find himself in the major leagues in short order.

Twins optioned C Chris Herrmann to Triple-A Rochester; RHPs Trevor May, B.J. Hermsen, Michael Tonkin and Josmil Pinto and INF Daniel Santana to Double-A New Britain. No surprises here. Acquired in the offseason deal for Ben Revere, May is a high-upside arm but requires more seasoning.
