Travis Hafner is scheduled to have his right knee scoped on Thursday. Hafner hinted at the possibility Wednesday morning, but he has decided to go ahead with the surgery. He'll miss four to six weeks, which places his return in early-to-mid July. The Indians will likely rely on multiple players out of the DH spot during his absence.

Indians placed DH Travis Hafner on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 24, with inflammation in his right knee. Hafner is currently dealing with an irritated meniscus in his right knee. He received a cortisone shot last Thursday and was able to run in the outfield on Monday, but the Indians will give him some extra time to heal. "Pronk" is hitting .242/.380/.439 with six homers, 23 RBI and an .819 OPS through 39 games this year.

While it doesn't sound like anything serious, the Indians could rest him on Friday to play it safe. Consider him day-to-day.

Travis Hafner homered, doubled and drove in three runs on Wednesday, leading the charge as Cleveland rocked Felix Hernandez and the Mariners. The Tribe rocked King Felix for a surprising eight runs in only 3 2/3 innings. Hafner's bomb came off of Hisashi Iwakuma in the sixth, however. The home run was just his fifth of the season, though three of those have come in May. He's now batting .259/.397/.464 to go along with 12 extra-base hits and 19 RBI.
