Hafner originally aimed to return Tuesday, but it appears that the Indians have decided to give him a full day of rest following his final rehab game on Monday. The veteran designated hitter has been sidelined since May 23 due to right knee surgery.

Travis Hafner (knee) expects to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday. Hafner resumed his rehab assignment on Monday night with Triple-A Columbus and went 0-for-4. However, barring any last minute setbacks with his surgically-repaired right knee, he should be activated and available for Tuesday's game.

Indians manager Manny Acta said Friday that Travis Hafner (knee) will soon start running the bases. Barring any setbacks, Hafner should go out on a minor league rehab assignment while the Indians are on their current 10-game roadtrip. The Indians are hopeful he'll be ready to return in the early part of July.

Travis Hafner (knee) has been doing some light hitting off a tee. Hafner underwent a right medial meniscectomy late last month and is progressing on schedule. He's expected back in early July. "Haf is doing well," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "He's already taking some swings off a tee. It's going well. That's all I can tell you right now."

Hafner is expected to need between four and six weeks of recovery time, meaning he'll have to hustle to get back before the All-Star break. The Indians are going with a rotation at DH in his absence.
