Anderson (personal) is back in action Tuesday against the Angels, batting seventh and playing shortstop.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was initially expected to return to the lineup Monday after missing the weekend series to attend a funeral, but he'll get back with the team just a day later. He'll resume his normal spot in the order and should be a mainstay in the lineup barring any extraneous circumstances.

Anderson (personal) is not in the lineup Monday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was expected to be back with the team for the start of their series in Anaheim, but it seems like his personal leave is taking a bit longer than initially expected. He could be back in the lineup Tuesday, but in the meantime, Tyler Saladino will pick up another start at shortstop.

Anderson was scheduled to leave the White Sox on Friday morning to attend the funeral of his close friend over the weekend, and he'll rejoin them Monday for their road series against the Angels, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson' friend Branden Moss, who was the godfather of Anderson's daughter, was shot and killed Sunday near the University of Alabama while reportedly trying to help an assault victim outside of a bar. After the services, Anderson will meet up with Chicago for the start of their stint in Anaheim.

Anderson is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was bumped down to seventh in the order Saturday, and despite collecting a base hit to bring his season average up to a meager .209, the young shortstop will get the day off to clear his head. Tyler Saladino will get the starting nod in his stead.

Anderson is hitting seventh Saturday against the Orioles, the Chicago Sun-Times' Daryl Van Schouwen reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to this game against righty Dylan Bundy, Anderson had seen 11 games in the lead off spot and 15 games in the two hole, but with him hitting .207/.235/.288, the team wanted to take some pressure off his bat. Anderson will need to heat up in order to offer much value, regardless of where he is hitting. Leury Garcia moved to the two hole and Melky Cabrera moved to the leadoff spot. If Anderson starts to produce, he should be able to reclaim a top spot in the lineup, as Garcia is hardly a qualified No. 2 hitter.

Anderson went 2-for-5 in his return to the lineup in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles. He had been given a rest day Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson's two singles Friday raises his average to .207, the second time this season he's crossed the Mendoza threshold. After making a nice splash in 2016, it appears the league has caught up to the 23-year-old shortstop the second time around. Pitchers are feeding him more sliders and it's resulting in more soft contact. Additionally, he's hitting just .171 against right-handers. Right-handers that throw sliders are pretty common in baseball. Anderson and the White Sox have seen a steady dose of AL Central foes, teams that may know Anderson better than others. Perhaps Anderson's bat can come alive when the schedule features more teams outside his division, but word about a hitter's deficiencies circulates pretty quickly in MLB. Anderson will need to adjust to the increased diet of sliders he's seeing.

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Friday's 7-3 win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
His two-run shot in the ninth inning off rookie reliever Joe Jimenez was Anderson's second homer of the season. The young shortstop also struck out twice, however, leaving him with a 2:20 BB:K through 20 games, and his .224/.250/.329 slash line may not improve much until he learns to control the strike zone better.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with three singles, an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 12-1 victory over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The three-hit performance raised Anderson's average to just .208 on the season, and he has only three extra-base hits in his 74 plate appearances on the young season. The 23-year-old may continue to struggle with the stick as he matures. His only real asset for fantasy owners are his wheels, and his steal Monday was only his second of the year. Anderson has plenty of upside, but he's only useful for his speed right now in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.

Anderson is batting lead off and starting at shortstop for Friday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
It will be just the fourth time this season that Anderson finds himself at the top of the order, but could serve to jumpstart his offensive production. Anderson has been left searching for answers while slashing just .164/.179/.236 this season with 14 strikeouts over 13 games. Tyler Saladino gets the day off.

Anderson is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-handed Anderson's absence from the lineup is somewhat surprising with manager Rick Renteria keeping left-handed bats Cody Asche and Omar Narvaez out of the lineup against Twins southpaw Hector Santiago, but perhaps the White Sox skipper just wanted to give the struggling young shortstop a mental break. Anderson has started every game this season and has yet to get going, churning out just six hits in 43 at-bats. Leury Garcia will relieve Anderson both at shortstop and at the top of the order in the series finale.
