Alderman has been recalled by the Reds, temporarily replacing Michael Lorenzen on the active roster while the latter is on bereavement leave.
EDGE Analysis
Barring an injury in the interim, Adleman could be sent right back down to the minors when Lorenzen returns. However, there is a chance he fills the open spot in the Reds' rotation as well.

Adleman was activated from the 15-day disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Louisville, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
in 19.1 innings of work in Cincinnati, Adleman accumulated a 3.72 ERA with 16 strikeouts. He will head back to Triple-A where owned a 3.16 ERA in 42.2 innings. The 28-year-old will most likely rejoin the big league club when rosters expand in September.

Adleman (oblique) is about to finish his rehab assignment, but it doesn't appear that he has a spot to return to, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Anthony DeSclafani and Homer Bailey back in the rotation, plus the back end of the bullpen thriving, there's no spot where Adleman is an improvement. At this point in time, we don't have an immediate need," manager Bryan Price said. "We don't have to make any decisions on that until his time is up, and then either he fits on our club or he's a guy that we option down to Triple-A."

Adleman (oblique) has thrown two rehab starts and feels good so far, but the Reds are taking extra precautions to avoid rushing him back, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adleman has been surprised how long the recovery from the oblique strain has taken, but he's also seen in the organization how long it can be following Anthony DeSclafani's experience. "I wasn't 100 percent sure on how long it would take. But given that it was diagnosed as a mild strain, I was pretty optimistic," Adleman said. "I know with obliques in the past, if you try to rush back sometimes they can come back to bite you. It's definitely been longer than I thought but I was glad I was able to get the time to get it right. Now I feel like it's just about ready."

Adleman (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Monday, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's expected to toss two innings for the Reds' rookie-level club in Arizona. The right-hander has been out since May with the oblique injury, so he'll likely require at least two or three rehab starts in the minors before a DL activation is considered.

Adleman (oblique) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Adleman exited Thursday's start in the fourth inning due to what was eventually diagnosed as a strained left oblique. He was scheduled for an MRI on Friday, and the team has since determined that Adleman will require a stint on the DL. The Reds recalled outfielder Steve Selsky from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move Friday.

Adleman (oblique) will undergo an MRI on Friday, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Rosecrans, manager Bryan Price did not sound overly optimistic about Adleman's oblique injury that caused him to leave Thursday's start in the fourth inning. Oblique injuries can be tricky for pitchers, so Friday's MRI figures to shed more light on Adleman's prognosis. As of Thursday night, he is believed to be dealing with a strained left oblique.

Adleman's injury has been diagnosed as a strained left oblique, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
EDGE Analysis
Herein lies our obligatory reminder that timetable for oblique injuries are notoriously unreliable. We'll await word from the Reds on how long they expect Adleman to be out nonetheless.

Adleman left Thursday's game in the fourth inning with an apparent injury, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't obvious what was ailing Adleman, but he seemed to be favoring his side. Adleman gave up a two-run homer to Carlos Santana in the fourth inning prior to exiting (76 pitches). The Reds are dealing with a slew of injuries in the rotation, and if Adleman is forced to miss time, the team may consider giving one of their top pitching prospect an opportunity.
