Antone allowed two hits and struck out none to earn the save in Sunday's 7-6 win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed a leadoff double to Connor Joe and a single to Ryan McMahon, but Garrett Hampson grounded into a double play to end the threat. The save was Antone's second of the season. He's also notched two blown saves, three holds and a win in 13 outings. The 27-year-old has a 2.08 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB across 21.2 innings in a fairly versatile role.

Antone was charged with a blown save after giving up four runs on two hits and two walks over 1.1 innings in Sunday's 13-12 win over the Cubs in 10 innings.
EDGE Analysis
After picking up his first career save Friday in the series opener, Antone was summoned with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to protect a one-run lead. He got out of the seventh unscathed and then saw the Reds put up three runs in the top of the eighth, but Antone couldn't hold up to his end of the bargain. He walked two of the first four batters he faced in the bottom of the eighth, then surrendered an RBI single before coughing up a game-tying three-run home run to Ian Happ. The poor outing should do little to diminish what's been an outstanding start to the season for Antone, who still owns excellent ratios (2.93 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 12.3 K/9) across his nine relief appearances.

Antone retired the only batter he faced Friday to record his first save of the season in an 8-6 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Carson Fulmer started the ninth inning for the Reds with the club ahead 8-4, but after he put the first two batters aboard, Lucas Sims entered the game. Sims did no better, allowing both inherited runners to score and loading the bases with two outs, forcing manager David Bell to turn to Antone, who needed only three pitches to rack up his first career save by getting David Bote to ground out. The Reds prefer using Antone in longer high-leverage stints a la Josh Hader -- he's gotten more than three outs in five of his eight appearances so far -- but with both Sims and Amir Garrett struggling badly in save situations, the 27-year-old could find himself working the ninth more often.

Antone (1-0) fired three scoreless innings without giving up a hit, walking two batters and striking out three to earn his first major-league win over the Dodgers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Antone entered Monday's game in the eighth and mowed down the Dodgers' hitters without much issue. The 27-year-old has easily been the Reds' best reliever to begin this season with a 0.66 ERA and 20:6 K:BB over 13.2 innings. His fantasy appeal does present some limitations in leagues that don't count holds due to the fact that he's not a starter and isn't first in line for save opportunities. However, things could change down the road with both Amir Garrett and Lucas Sims struggling in high-leverage situations so far this year.

Antone did not give up a hit in Monday's 3-0 win over the Giants, striking out five and walking a batter while firing 3.2 scoreless innings to earn a hold.
EDGE Analysis
Antone entered to begin the sixth after five shutout innings from Wade Miley, and he picked up right where the starter left off. He did walk and hit a batter, but Antone recorded 10 consecutive outs at one point. The 27-year-old did make four starts in 2020 and is a valuable resource out of the bullpen as a guy who can give manager David Bell multiple innings if needed. Antone has gotten off to an incredible start this year, throwing 6.2 scoreless innings and allowing just two hits while sporting an impressive 9:2 K:BB.

Antone threw two shutout innings against the Diamondbacks on Friday, striking out three while allowing one hit.
EDGE Analysis
Antone was in line for the win after relieving Tyler Mahle to begin the fifth inning, but Cam Bedrosian and Lucas Sims both struggled later in the game. There will be similar opportunities for him to steal some wins in relief, and in the future he might get stretched out more -- this was just his second appearance in the regular season, after he lost some time in spring training with nagging injuries.

Antone (hip) said Monday that he'll be ready to go by Opening Day, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
While this isn't quite confirmation from the team that Antone will avoid a trip to the injured list to start the season, it's seemingly the next best thing. Antone entered camp as a potential starter, but minor groin and hip issues prevented him from building up the necessary pitch count. He could still enter the rotation at some point this season and will be a very interesting fantasy option should that happen if he can get anywhere close to repeating his 2.80 ERA and 31.9 percent strikeout rate from his 35.1-inning debut last season, but he'll pitch in relief for now.

Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Antone (hip) will "most likely" open the season in a relief role, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Sonny Gray (back) headed for the injured list to begin the season, Antone's odds of breaking camp as a member of the rotation appeared to improve, but those plans may have changed when the 27-year-old righty exited his March 14 outing with a hip strain. Antone has since resumed throwing and could slot back into the Reds' Cactus League pitching schedule Sunday against the Brewers, but he looks like he'll only be asked to cover an inning or two now that the team is preparing for him to begin the season in the bullpen. While making nine of his 13 appearances in 2020 as a reliever, Antone showed he could still provide some value as a ratio stabilizer, and he may even get the chance to factor into save situations early on this season. With both Amir Garrett and Lucas Sims missing time in camp and offseason pickup Sean Doolittle having struggled mightily this spring, the Reds' closer situation is far from settled.

Antone (hip) threw off flat ground Tuesday and hopes to return to game action Sunday against the Brewers, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Antone has received plenty of hype this offseason thanks to his 2.80 ERA and 31.9 percent strikeout rate as a rookie last year. It hasn't been the smoothest spring for him, however, as he's dealt with both groin and hip issues. Neither issue has been particularly significant, though, and neither is an arm problem, so there's seemingly no reason to fear for his long-term health.

Antone (hip) is trending in the right direction and still appears set to make the Opening Day roster, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Antone has had a bit of a disrupted spring, dealing with a minor groin issue and now a minor hip problem. The Reds remain optimistic about his chances of avoiding the injured list, however, though it's still not clear exactly what role he'll serve. He's in the mix as both a starter and a high-leverage reliever.
