Souza is out of the lineup Saturday against the A's, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oswaldo Arcia will take over in right field as Souza sits for the second time since the All-Star break. Souza is just 11-for-57 (.193 average) since his return from a hip injury and he was pulled from a game earlier this month due to a lack of hustle, but Arcia has been in an even bigger funk lately and doesn't seem like a legitimate threat to Souza's playing time.

Souza went 2-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old's fourth-inning single brought home Logan Morrison for what turned out to be the only run of the game for the Rays. The multi-hit effort was Souza's third this month, but his first since July 5. Souza is slashing .251/.309./425 over 247 at-bats this season and has hit safely in five of the 10 games since returning from a hip injury.

Souza's day off Sunday wasn't related to any lack of effort on his part, but rather, due to manager Kevin Cash wanting to give him a day away from the game's mental rigors, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "He's probably putting a lot of pressure on himself to come through. You can tell the frustration a little bit with him."
EDGE Analysis
Like most of his teammates, Souza is enduring a generally tough season at the plate, and had gone 1-for-15 over the four games before Sunday. The 27-year-old had also been pulled from Tuesday's game for a lack of effort, but his latest absence solely due to Cash feeling like Souza would benefit from an extra day off in addition to the four that the All-Star break will bring. Souza enters the season's midway point slashing .251/.308/.431 with 11 doubles, a triple, 10 homers and 27 RBI.

Souza is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Boston, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza will get his first day off since returning from the disabled list July 2, after going 0-for-11 in the past three games. Tampa will start left-handed batters Corey Dickerson and Oswaldo Arcia at the corner outfield spots, despite drawing a tough matchup against southpaw David Price.

Souza was pulled from Tuesday's game for a lack of hustle, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports.
EDGE Analysis
He admitted after Tuesday's game that he was pulled for a lack of hustle, and said he felt "exposed" and "embarrassed" and would do his best not to let it happen again. This is better than Souza leaving with an injury, and Souza's owners can look for him to be deployed as usual going forward.

Souza was replaced in center field by Brandon Guyer after three innings Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't obvious what was ailing Souza, but he may have injured himself racing around the bases on his triple in the third inning. Look for the team to clarify Souza's status ahead of Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Souza went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in Monday's 4-2 victory over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
It was a positive day all around for Souza, who had a rather rare non-strikeout performance while also putting together his first multi-hit effort since returning from a DL stint on July 2. The 27-year-old plated Logan Morrison with his two-bagger in the sixth, helping the Rays to a much-needed victory. Souza's return to the lineup carries some long-ball potential, although just an improvement in his 62 percent contact rate would certainly be a welcome sight as well.

Souza (hip) had a single in three at-bats in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Tigers, his first game back from the DL.
EDGE Analysis
The young slugger's return didn't change much in the grand scheme of things for the anemic Rays offense, but it's certainly a step in the right direction to have him back in the fold. Souza has provided some pop with 20 extra-base hits (10 doubles, 10 homer) and 25 RBI before the injury, although he's also struck out at an atrocious 35.3 percent clip this season.

Souza is back in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza has been out since June 14 with a hip injury that forced him to miss time on the 15-day disabled list. This will be his first appearance back in the lineup as he was activated from the DL on Friday. For Saturday's contest facing Justin Verlander, Souza will play in right while batting sixth in the order.

Souza (hip) was activated from the 15-day DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Souza has just three steals on the year (on five attempts), but the power is definitely still in play, as he popped 10 homers in 212 at-bats before landing on the DL. He should see semi-regular playing time going forward. Taylor Motter was optioned to Triple-A as a corresponding move.
