Matz (1-0) allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight across six innings to earn the win Thursday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Matz allowed runs in both the first and second innings, but then settled in and retired 11 straight batters prior to a single by Ronald Acuna. He has now recorded eight strikeouts in consecutive outings, racking up 19 across 16.1 innings for the season. It's been a strong start to the campaign for Matz, as he has a 1.65 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through three starts.

Matz allowed two hits and four walks across five scoreless innings against the Nationals on Saturday. He struck out eight but did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Matz exited the game with a 1-0 lead, but both offenses came alive once the bullpens entered the game. The 27-year-old has given up three runs (one earned) in his first two starts (10.1 innings) of the season. Matz lines up to take the mound again Thursday versus the Braves.

Matz allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out three and taking the no-decision in 5.1 innings during Monday's 7-3 win over Miami.
EDGE Analysis
Matz got tagged early with a two-run shot by Starlin Castro in the first frame. He then allowed just two hits until the sixth inning where he allowed his third run and left in line for a loss. Fortunately, his team came through against Miami's bullpen to avoid the blemish on his record. Matz will face the Nationals on Sunday.

Matz surrendered eight runs on seven hits and a walk and struck out one over two innings Friday against Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Matz was hit early and often, giving up five runs in the first and three more in the second inning on four homers by the Nationals. The 27-year-old has yet to find consistency this spring and sits with a 10.97 ERA with eight punchouts over 10.2 frames (four starts).

Matz covered four scoreless frames in Sunday's 9-1 Grapefruit League win over the Cardinals, conceding three hits and one walk while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
With a 5.19 ERA and 1.62 WHIP across 8.2 innings in his three outings, Matz hasn't been impressive on the whole, but Sunday's start marked a step in the right direction. So long as the lefty escapes the spring healthy and with his velocity sitting at its usual levels, Matz should be an effective back-end rotation arm for the Mets and a worthy late-round flier for fantasy purposes.

Matz was tagged for four runs on five hits and two walks and struck out two over 2.2 innings in Monday's 9-3 exhibition loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Matz ceded a home run for the second time in as many outings this spring, with Gorkys Hernandez taking him deep with two runners on in the second inning. If healthy, the lefty is already assured a spot in the Mets' Opening Day rotation, so his spring results won't have much bearing on his job status.

Matz and the Mets agreed to a one-year, $2.625 million contract Friday, avoiding arbitration, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matz will more than quadruple his salary after earning just $577,000 last season. The raise comes after a season in which the lefty made a career-high 30 starts, finishing with a 3.97 ERA.

Matz didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 1-0 extra-innings win over the Marlins, scattering three hits and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out eight.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw caught a case of Jacob deGrom Disease in his final start of 2018, as Matz pitched well enough to earn his sixth win of the season but got no help whatsoever from Mets hitters. He'll wrap up the year with a 3.97 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 152:58 K:BB in 154 innings while making a career-high 30 starts, numbers that should net him a big raise as he heads into arbitration for the first time.

Matz allowed three runs on five hits and three walks across three innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Nationals. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Matz struggled mightily in the third inning, when he allowed three runs on three hits, a walk and a hit batsman before retiring the side. He had already labored through 78 pitches by that time and didn't come back out for the fourth. Matz had compiled a solid 2.29 ERA over his previous six starts, so this rocky outing came as a bit of a surprise. He'll look to close out on a high in his final start of the season Saturday against the Marlins.

Matz pitched 6.1 innings Thursday, yielding three runs on three hits and two walks in the 4-3 win over Miami. He struck out four and allowed two home runs in the no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Miami jumped on Matz fairly early, with Peter O'Brien and Isaac Galloway hitting back-to-back solo homers in the second inning. O'Brien would also later tack on a run-scoring single. On the bright side, Matz did launch a homer himself, knotting things up at 2-2 in the second inning. The 27-year-old southpaw will take a 4.18 ERA into Philadelphia early next week.
