Matz (4-3) took the win versus the Dodgers on Tuesday, tossing six innings and giving up two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Matz exited the game locked in a 2-2 tie but was rewarded for his efforts with a win after the Mets scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning. He gave up a mammoth home run to MVP frontrunner Cody Bellinger in the third inning but otherwise managed to keep the Dodgers off the scoreboard to earn his first victory since the end of April. The lefty leads all Mets starters with a 3.55 ERA in spite of a mediocre 1.34 WHIP. He'll face the Diamondbacks on Sunday in his next scheduled start.

Matz allowed one earned run on 10 hits and two walks while striking out seven across six innings Thursday against the Nationals. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Matz worked out of trouble for most of the day as he allowed multiple baserunners in four of the six innings he pitched. Still, he managed to limit the damage by inducing two double plays and also generating timely strikeouts. While the results were strong, his swinging strikes indicate that he wasn't particularly deceptive, especially when combined with the fact that he allowed 12 baserunners. Regardless, he'll look to keep the relatively positive results going in his next start, currently scheduled for Tuesday at the Dodgers.

Matz (3-3) took the loss against the Marlins on Saturday by allow two runs on five hits across 3.2 innings. He struck out six and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Matz was on a limited workload Saturday in his return from the forearm injury, and was unable to finish the fourth inning despite throwing 81 pitches. He would have had trouble picking up the win regardless with the Mets registering only one hit. Matz had a 2.89 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB in his last three starts before landing on the injured list, and he'll look to regain that form Thursday versus the Nationals.

Matz will be limited to 75-80 pitches Saturday against the Marlins, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matz won't be asked to go too deep into the game in his first game back from a forearm injury. The pitch count will hurt his chances to pick up a win, but it doesn't rule it out completely if he has an efficient outing.

Matz (forearm) was activated as expected ahead of his scheduled start Saturday against the Marlins, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matz anticipated a short stay on the injured list, and that will indeed be the case, as he'll wind up missing just over two weeks. Paul Sewald was optioned in a corresponding move.

Matz (forearm) will start Saturday against the Marlins, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matz came through a 45-pitch bullpen session with no issues Wednesday, clearing the way for the left-hander to be activated from the injured list over the weekend. The 27-year-old Matz will look to pick up where he left off prior to landing on the shelf; over his past three starts, Matz is 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB in 18.2 innings.

Matz (forearm) relayed that he felt completely healthy following his 45-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, but manager Mickey Callaway wasn't willing to commit to the left-hander being ready to return from the 10-day injured list to start Saturday's game against the Marlins, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets may just want to wait and see how Matz feels over the next day or two before determining his next step, but he appears quite likely to slot back into the rotation this weekend. As Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports, Matz's bullpen session included several curveballs, the pitch that had previously caused most of the nerve discomfort in his left arm. Given that Matz said he's comfortable throwing his full arsenal, he likely wouldn't face significant restrictions if he does in fact rejoin the rotation this week. Triple-A Syracuse hurlers Chris Flexen and Corey Oswalt would be the likeliest candidates to make a spot start in Miami if the Mets decide to err on the side of caution and keep Matz on the IL a little longer.

Matz (forearm) will throw another bullpen session Wednesday, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matz had been tracking towards a return Thursday, but the Mets elected to have him wait a few more days. He said Tuesday that he hadn't suffered any setback, so he's expected to pitch during the Mets' weekend series in Miami.

The Mets are hopeful Matz (forearm) will be ready to return from the 10-day injured list to make a start in Miami during the upcoming weekend, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matz had previously been eyeing Thursday's game against the Nationals for his return from the IL, but he'll get some additional time to heal up after the Mets' series finale Sunday with the Marlins was postponed due to inclement weather in New York. The cancellation will allow the team to push each member of the rotation back two days in the schedule, setting Matz up for a potential return in South Florida. Matz, who is dealing with a nerve issue in his left forearm, completed a bullpen session over the weekend without any reported problems.

Matz will test his injured forearm in a bullpen session Saturday to determine whether or not he'll be able to make his next scheduled start Thursday against Washington, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matz is battling a nerve issue in his left forearm which has sent him to the injured list, causing him to miss at least one start. The Mets should have a clearer idea of how many more starts (if any) he'll need to miss once they see how the injury responds to Saturday's bullpen session.
