Sean Newcomb To Concussion IL rotoballer.com Wed 6/19/19 12:22 PM
Atlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb was placed on the seven-day injured list on Wednesday. Newcomb was hit in the head by a line drive back on June 15 and while it was unclear for a while how much time he'd miss, the Braves will clearly be without him for at least a few days now. The Braves recalled pitcher Huascar Ynoa to replace Newcomb. Newcomb has 20 appearances this season, four of them starts, with a 2.38 ERA, 1.38 [...]
Sean Newcomb Feeling Fine rotoballer.com Tue 6/18/19 9:10 PM
Atlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb (head) has been feeling fine and slept through the night on Saturday after he was hit in the back of the head with a line drive in his start against the Phillies. The left-hander has a bump on his head and his neck is a little stiff, but it looks like he'll avoid the injured list. Newcomb allowed three hits and two unearned runs while walking two and striking out three in 2 2/3 innings before he left the game. He's rebounded after a slow start to post a 2.38 [...]
Sean Newcomb To Start Saturday rotoballer.com Thu 6/13/19 8:01 PM
Atlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb will return to the starting rotation in place of Kevin Gausman (foot) and pitch against the Phillies on Saturday. Newcomb pitched 4 2/3 solid innings in relief of an ineffective Gausman on Monday against the Pirates. However, Saturday's start might just be a spot start for Newcomb with Dallas Keuchel on the horizon. Newcomb has a 1.42 ERA and just two walks in 19 innings since coming back from Triple-A Gwinnett. The left-hander didn't do well in his three s[...]
Sean Newcomb Stellar In Relief On Monday rotoballer.com Tue 6/11/19 9:23 AM
Atlanta Braves starter Sean Newcomb replaced the incumbent Kevin Gausman in the third inning of Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he proceeded to toss 4 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out six batters. Newcomb has been fantastic coming out of the bullpen for the Braves this season as he owns a 1.42 ERA and 1.00 WHIP as a reliever. With how ineffective Gausman has been as of late, Newcomb's return to the starting rotation may come quicker than anticipated.
Dallas Keuchel - A Brave New World rotoballer.com Fri 6/7/19 10:00 AM
Once a certain point was reached, we all knew that it could happen at any given second. Once draft compensation was no longer tied to the two biggest remaining free agents in the MLB, the bidding war began, and it didn't take long for the results to shake out (and that's even with a few bumps in the road). Craig Kimbrel penned a long-term deal to take over closer duties for the Chicago Cubs on June 5 and barely 24 hours later, Dallas Keuchel signed on the dotted line with the Atlanta Braves to t[...]

Closers and Saves Report - Week 8 Waiver Wire rotoballer.com Fri 5/24/19 7:45 AM
It's almost officially summer (both in the "school's out" definition and the-calendar-says-so definition) but the introduction of Closers and Saves Report is still rolling strong with some very specific Easter eggs. While part of me wants to break free () another part feels under pressure () to keep it going. Speaking of keeping it going, Luke Jackson wasn't able to do just that this week, and now the Braves bullpen looks to be in flux once again.Under pressure? Well, [...]
Sean Newcomb Picks Up His First Save Of The Season rotoballer.com Tue 5/21/19 10:40 AM
Atlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb fired a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save during a 4-1 win over the San Francisco Giants. It was the first save opportunity of the year for the 25-year-old. Newcomb, who was demoted to Triple-A Gwinnett back in April, has not allowed a run yet in seven appearances out of the Braves' bullpen. Luke Jackson still factors into the ninth-inning duties, but if the Braves are not planning on putting Newcomb back into the rotation, it is wholly possible he ear[...]
