Oberg struck out a batter in two-thirds of an inning Tuesday night against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Outside of a nasty outing on April 25 in which he gave up three earned runs in one inning of work, the 27-year-old right-hander has been solid out of the Rockies' bullpen thus far. He's held opponents scoreless in nine of his 13 appearances while posting a strong .244 BABIP. Oberg likely won't get a ton of high-leverage innings with Adam Ottavino, Jake McGee and Mike Dunn (back) all jockeying for eighth inning appearances, but Oberg should continue to get work as long as he avoids any more implosions.

Oberg is a member of the major-league bullpen to begin the season, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oberg seemed to be destined for Triple-A despite a strong spring showing, but following the removal of Jason Motte from the 40-man roster, the Rockies were in need of another right-hander in their relief corps. Oberg likely won't get too many high-leverage innings considering right-hander Adam Ottavino and left-handers Jake McGee and Mike Dunn will all be clamoring for seventh- and eighth-inning work, but the major-league roster spot is certainly better than nothing at this point for the 27-year-old.

Oberg will likely begin the season with Triple-A Albuquerque, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander pitched well this spring, posting a 2.16 ERA and an 8:2 K:BB in 8.1 innings pitched, but ultimately there were just too many other arms clamoring for the same spots. That being said, Oberg has consistently dominated Triple-A hitters over the past few years, so he seems like a logical option to return to the big league bullpen if someone else gets hurt or falters.

Oberg has logged 5.1 innings this spring, allowing two runs on six hits while posting a 6:2 K:BB ratio.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander held an ERA above 5.00 each of the past two seasons, but given his dominance at the upper levels of the minor leagues, he's still in the thick of the race for the final spots in the Rockies bullpen. The injury to Chad Qualls (forearm) and the demotion of Miguel Castro certainly helped Oberg's cause, but the 27-year-old will still need to outperform Jason Motte, Jordan Lyles and Carlos Estevez in order to punch his ticket to Denver.

Oberg said "all systems are go" heading into spring training after undergoing surgery to deal with blood clots, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oberg's 2016 campaign was cut short when he was diagnosed with thrombosis in his right arm and shoulder. After two offseason surgeries, he began throwing in late November and progressed steadily throughout the winter. With the additions of Greg Holland and Mike Dunn, Oberg will be hard-pressed to find a role in a reloaded Colorado bullpen. The right-hander posted a 5.19 ERA in 24 games last season.

Oberg (arm) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Friday, Nick Kosmider of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Four days after placing Oberg on the 15-day DL, the Rockies have gone ahead and given him the 60-day designation, thus ending the right-hander's season. Oberg was diagnosed with axillary artery thrombosis in his arm and a recovery timetable remains unclear.

Oberg was placed on the disabled list Monday with axillary artery thrombosis in his right arm.
EDGE Analysis
Oberg has struggled out to a 5.19 ERA on the season, though he's allowed only two hits over his last five appearances. The Rockies haven't provided a timetable for the right-hander, but he'll be eligible to return as early as September 6, unless the team opts to backdate the DL stint. Oberg last pitched on Friday against the Cubs.

Oberg came on to pitch the ninth for the Rockies in a 12-9 ballgame, and earned his first save of the season, allowing a solo home runs while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
With nominal closer Adam Ottavino having pitched the previous two days, it was Oberg who got the call in the ninth Wednesday to try and preserve a three-run lead. The Rockies had already used five other relievers in the high-scoring affair, yet Oberg still seemed an unlikely candidate, considering his 5.26 ERA. Don't expect more save opportunities for Oberg unless something changes, as Ottavino remains the team's closer for the time being.

Oberg was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Chad Qualls (illness) hit the 15-day DL, opening the door for Oberg to return for his third stint with the big club this season. Oberg made 64 appearances with the big club last year, racking up 16 holds over 58.1 innings, and he's pitched well with Albuquerque so far this season (2.43 ERA, 0.91 WHIP). However, it seems likely the right-hander will work primarily in low-leverage spots for the time being with the later inning accounted for.

Oberg was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Oberg was sent down in order to recall Jordan Lyles as a long reliever. The 26-year-old had a 4.05 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in nine relief appearances for the Rockies but will now head to Triple-A to continue to develop until he is needed again.
