Oberg was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oberg has already appeared in eight games for the Rockies this season, allowing six earned runs over 11.1 innings. The team placed Tyler Chatwood (back) on the DL on Sunday, effectively freeing up a roster spot for extra bullpen depth.

Oberg was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After a string of five straight scoreless appearances, Oberg was knocked around for five earned runs over four innings in his two more recent outings. He may get another chance the next time the Rockies need a fresh arm, but there's little to see here from a fantasy perspective.

Oberg has been recalled by the Rockies, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll serve as an extra arm in the bullpen, at least for the next few days, as Chris Rusin is positioned to replace Jordan Lyles in the rotation beginning Friday in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.

Oberg has lost the competition for one of the final two bullpen spots.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Walt Weiss indicated Saturday that Oberg would not make the 25-man roster, and now that has been finalized. Although the level was unannounced, it seems highly likely he will be sent to Triple-A Albuquerque, where he posted a 1.13 ERA and 2.00 WHIP with 11 strikeouts over eight innings last season.

Oberg is in the running for one of the final two roster spots, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Left-hander Jason Gurka and outfielder Brandon Barnes are also competing for the final two roster spots. The right-hander was pitching well halfway through spring training and seemed to be in a good position for a bullpen spot, but then his ERA and WHIP ballooned to 12.38 and 2.75 respectively thanks to giving up three home runs (the very thing that plagued him last season). He'll have to prove that he can right his wrongs quickly if he wants to avoid being the odd man out in this competition.

Manager Walt Weiss said that Oberg is "in good position" for a spot in the Rockies bullpen, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old's stats from last season look pretty bad, but he did post a 0.79 ERA in his last 14 appearances out of the bullpen and has only allowed one run in 4.1 innings this spring. He won't likely get to pitch in many high-leverage situations if he gives up as many home runs as he did last season (1.5 HR/9), but this is a nice vote of confidence for the right-hander going forward.

Oberg tossed a scoreless sixth inning in Sunday's win over the Mariners to earn his 12th hold.
EDGE Analysis
Oberg has delivered four scoreless outings in a row for the Rockies, but he's still been an overall disaster in middle relief this season. He's given up 10 homers and has a 5.68 ERA over 50.2 innings.

Oberg was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. He recorded two outs in Thursday's game to earn his eighth hold of the season. Perhaps Oberg will return shortly after the All-Star break, but the holds don't make up for his home-run issues (8 in 31.2 innings) and marginal strikeout upside.

Oberg served up a three-run homer to Domingo Santana in the eighth inning of Wednesday's loss to the Astros Oberg has now given up eight long balls on the season to lead all MLB relievers in that category. Predictably, his ERA (5.55) and WHIP (1.35) have been ugly, and it wouldn't be surprising if he was soon demoted back to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Oberg picked up his first career save in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Phillies. He allowed a lone single in a scoreless ninth inning. With John Axford having pitched the previous three days and Rafael Betancourt dealing with an illness heading into Sunday's series finale, it was anyone's guess who manager Walt Weiss would turn to if a save situation arose. The roulette wheel ended up settling on Oberg, who was able to navigate a relatively low-stress save chance without much consternation. The right-hander has been fairly competent across 19 appearances this season with a 4.15 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 13:3 K:BB ratio, but it's unlikely to result in him gaining a role of much consequence in the fantasy realm.
