Travis was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, Evan Drellich of CSN New England reports.
EDGE Analysis
With first baseman Mitch Moreland slumping, the Red Sox probably would have liked to keep Travis around as a platoon mate at first base, but adding another fresh arm to the bullpen was deemed a greater priority. It's not out of the question for Travis to resurface with the Red Sox before the end of August once he's eligible to do so. He's batting .279/.380/.395 through his first 50 plate appearances in the majors.

Travis is 3-for-23 with two doubles since being recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on June 20.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Sox first baseman slashed .471/.526/.588 in his earlier stint in the majors this season, but has struggled to find consistency since his latest callup. The 23-year-old is slashing .385/.467/.500 against lefties, and his mostly likely path to playing time is a platoon with starting first baseman Mitch Moreland, who is hitting .222 in only 45 at-bats against left-handed pitching this season.

Travis was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Dustin Pedroia (back) and Pablo Sandoval (illness) both getting hurt within the past week, the Red Sox will bring Travis back to the majors to add some depth to a depleted Boston bench. He'll likely pick up a few starts against left-handed pitching until some of the injuries plaguing the team subside, and given his 1.114 OPS in 17 at-bats in a similar role earlier in the season, he could be a nice short-term pickup before he returns to the minors.

Travis was sent down to Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday, Evan Drellich of CSN New England reports.
EDGE Analysis
Travis spent a couple weeks with the Red Sox, earning 17 at-bats during that span while accumulating eight hits in his brief stay. With Dustin Pedroia set to return from his wrist injury, there is just too many mouths to feed on Boston's roster to keep Travis on board at this point in time.

Travis will be in the lineup Wednesday night against Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday's start could be Travis' final one on this trip up to Boston. The Red Sox don't face another lefty until Friday, and that's when the team is expected to activate Dustin Pedroia (wrist) off the disabled list Friday and will need Travis' roster spot. Travis is 7-for-14 with a couple of walks and scored six runs in five games, but at present, the Red Sox need to keep the inferior hitting Deven Marrero up as insurance for Pablo Sandoval.

Travis went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run in Thursday's 7-5 loss to Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
Travis reached base three times for the second straight game and sports a .563 on-base percentage over his first five games. He's been exactly the platoon boost Boston's lineup needed since being called up from Triple-A Pawtucket. With Baltimore scheduled to throw right-hander Alec Asher on Friday, Travis is expected to take a seat behind the left-handed hitting Mitch Moreland.

Travis went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 13-7 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Getting the start at first base against lefty Jose Quintana, Travis collected the first extra-base hits and the first steal of his young big-league career. He remained on Boston's roster when Pablo Sandoval came off the DL thanks to Dustin Pedroia's wrist injury, but Travis may find himself back in Triple-A once Pedroia gets healthy if the organization feels his development requires regular playing time rather than a platoon role and sporadic at-bats in the majors.

Travis went 2-for-4 with two singles, scored the game-tying run and made a nice defensive play in Wednesday's 9-4 victory over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Travis, who had a third hit taken away by Elvis Andrus, looked polished in the batter's box and has the potential to give Boston an impact bat from the right side. If he could play third base, he'd be ideal, but he's strictly a first baseman. For now, Travis will get his opportunities, spelling Mitch Moreland against left-handers, against whom he had a 1.209 OPS in the minors this season.

Travis will make his major-league debut Wednesday against the Rangers, batting seventh and playing first base, Tim Britton of The Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
As anticipated, Travis will slot into the lineup against left-hander Martin Perez. Travis has mashed lefties during his minor-league career, meaning he'll likely continue to give Mitch Moreland a blow at first base whenever southpaws take the mound for the opposition.

Travis is expected to start against Texas left-hander Martin Perez on Wednesday, Chad Jennings of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boston's most advanced hitting prospect was added to the 40-man roster and called up to the majors Tuesday. He'll serve as the right-handed complement to Mitch Moreland at first base, getting starts against left-handers. With Hanley Ramirez exhibiting no signs that he's ready to play the field due to lingering shoulder issues, Travis will get plenty of opportunities to prove he belongs in MLB.
