Travis belted a three-run home run in Monday's game against Houston.
EDGE Analysis
There's something about spring that agrees with Travis who has a 1.407 OPS this year, after he dominated spring training one year ago when he batted .469 with a 1.147 OPS. He's not expected to head north with Boston unless there's an injury to Hanley Ramirez or Mitch Moreland, but the 23-year-old is poised to make his MLB debut at some point this season.

Travis (knee) went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Thursday's spring opener against Northeastern University.
EDGE Analysis
Travis started at designated hitter for the Red Sox, and according to manager John Farrell, "you would never know he had the [torn] ACL last year the way that he's moving around." It seems that the top prospect is back to normal form now that he's able to join the team in game action, and he should continue to develop normally with the hopes of garnering a callup sometime later in the season.

Travis (knee) has been participating in all drills and has taken live batting practice, Christopher Smith of MassLive reports.
EDGE Analysis
Travis rehabbed last season's ACL surgery on his left knee and has had no restrictions at spring training. The Chicago native made a splash during last year's spring training and hit well for Triple-A Pawtucket before suffering the season-ending injury in late May. He'll repeat with the PawSox to start the season, but a trip to Boston is expected at some point in 2017. It's just a question of when and which path leads him there -- an organic second-half callup, a struggling Mitch Moreland, or a Hanley Ramirez injury.

Travis has been performing all normal offseason baseball activities without limitations, but still wears a brace on his left knee, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Travis is itching to get back on the field and will take part in Boston's rookie development program this week at Boston College. After that, he's scheduled for a consultation with his doctor during the first two weeks of spring training, when he's hoping to have the knee brace removed. The organization remains high on Travis, which became evident when the they didn't seek a longer-term solution at first base during the offseason, instead opting to sign MItch Moreland to a one-year deal.

Travis (knee) was at Fenway Park before Monday's game to get checked out by team doctors, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports. He is expected to be ready for spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Travis, who is recovering from knee surgery to repair an ACL tear, will likely begin 2017 at Triple-A Pawtucket, but given the current roster, there's an opportunity he'll be Boston's first baseman at some point next season.

Travis tore his ACL in his left knee during Sunday's game against Triple-A Indianapolis and will be out for the rest of the 2016 season, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Travis was the No. 7 prospect for the Red Sox, slashing .273/.333/436 at the Triple-A level in 2016. He will undergo surgery to repair his ligament, and hopefully be ready to play by next season. This most effects the infield depth of the Red Sox organization, especially at the first base position. Josh Ockimey, Boston's No. 10 prospect is also a first basemen, and could get his shot if Hanley Ramirez or Travis Shaw get hurt. Ockimey is currently slashing .297/.441/.561 with Single-A Greenville, over 155 at-bats.

Travis appeared to injure his left knee during a rundown play in the top of the 3rd inning of Sunday's game against Triple-A Indianapolis.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of Travis's injury is not yet known, but it's likely more updates will come soon. The first baseman is the number seven prospect for the Red Sox, slashing .273/.333/.436 at the Triple-A level in 2016.

Travis (quad) went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Pawtucket's 2-1 loss to Buffalo on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
After tweaking his quad last Wednesday, it appears that Travis is back to his old form. He's collected three hits (two of them being doubles) over the past two games to raise his batting average to .284, helping him solidify his spot as one of the Red Sox's top prospects and as a potential option at first base possibly as early as 2017.

EDGE Analysis
Travis stayed in the game, but head coach Kevin Boles said the first baseman will be evaluated Thursday when Pawtucket arrives in Buffalo.

Travis was promoted to Double-A Portland, WEEI.com reports. He had a torrid June, hitting .406 (28-for-69) with a 1.112 OPS for High-A Salem. Travis, a career .315 hitter in 567 plate appearances in the minors, was among the top ten in all the relevant average categories in the Carolina League. He started the season, batting just .173 on April 24, but Travis made the necessary adjustments. The one remaining question is whether he'll hit for enough power. He's pretty well slotted in as a first baseman, a position that traditionally has been expected to hit for power.
