Dyson was designated for assignment Friday.
EDGE Analysis
As anticipated, the Rangers will cast Dyson off the 40-man roster in order to allow Jose Leclerc to return from the disabled list. The Rangers reportedly have a number of suitors for Dyson's services, so although he's been horrible this season, the former closer will likely be able to land another major-league job very soon.

Dyson will be designated for assignment by the Rangers, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although the move has yet to be made official, the club plans to part ways with the struggling reliever. According to Rosenthal, the Rangers have gauged interest from other clubs regarding Dyson and have found a number of potential suitors. Once the move to DFA Dyson is complete, the Rangers are expected to activate the flame throwing 23-year-old Jose Leclerc (finger) from the disabled list. Dyson entered the year as the Rangers' closer, but four blown saves, a 10.80 ERA, and a 2.58 WHIP made the Rangers go in a different direction in the back end of the bullpen.

Dyson tossed one inning and surrendered three runs (one earned) on three hits to take the loss in Wednesday's 10-inning game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
After closer Matt Bush blew a save in the ninth inning upon yielding a game-tying home run, manager Jeff Banister turned to Dyson in the top of the 10th. Banister's trust in Dyson in high-leverage spots has routinely gone unrewarded this season, and Wednesday proved no different, as the right-hander served up a leadoff homer to Logan Morrison, then recorded two outs before giving up a two-run bomb to Derek Norris. With six losses and a 10.80 ERA on his ledger this season, Dyson simply doesn't look like a big-league pitcher at the moment, and it may take an extended break for him to get right again. Per Fangraphs, Dyson has supplied a -1.0 WAR over just 16.2 innings, trailing only Padres starter Jered Weaver (-1.1) for the worst mark among all pitchers in baseball.

Dyson didn't record an out in Wednesday's appearance against Boston, giving up five runs (four earned) on four hits, three walks and a wild pitch.
EDGE Analysis
Two of the walks were intentional, but there's no sugarcoating this outing, which saw Dyson and starter Martin Perez combine for a seven-run inning. A surprisingly valuable closer last year, Dyson has lost his ninth-inning role and is well into the process of pitching himself right out of the major leagues. His 14.1 innings this season have resulted in an 11.93 ERA and 2.65 WHIP -- numbers that make him extraordinarily hard to own in fantasy.

Dyson worked around a pair of base hits to turn in a scoreless eighth inning and pick up his second hold of the season in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Since being activated from the disabled list in late April, Dyson has only given up two runs in 8.1 innings while working in a setup role, but he's been far from dependable. Both of those runs came on homers -- the third and fourth he's allowed already this season -- and Dyson hasn't recorded a single strikeout during that span. It still looks like manager Jeff Banister trusts Dyson enough to use him in high-leverage spots, but the former closer doesn't seem to be making any headway in reclaiming his old job from Matt Bush, who has gone 4-for-4 in save chances since assuming closing duties.

Dyson picked up the win in relief in Thursday's 5-2 victory over the Padres. He pitched a scoreless inning and gave up two hits.
EDGE Analysis
Called upon with the Rangers trailing 2-1 in the top of the ninth inning, Dyson was able to work around two base hits to keep the Padres off the board, and was then credited with his first victory of the season after Mike Napoli hit a walk-off three-run homer. Based on Dyson's usage Thursday, it's clear that manager Jeff Banister still isn't reluctant to use the former closer in big spots despite his bloated 11.57 ERA, but Dyson still has a long ways to go before taking back ninth-inning duties from Matt Bush.

Dyson allowed the game-winning home run in the eighth inning in his inning of work in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was a solo job in the bottom of the eighth to Kyle Seager with the game tied. Texas' closer to begin the year, Dyson has now allowed four long balls and blown three saves in 10.2 innings this season. His K/9 (1.7), BB/9 (6.8) and ERA (12.66) are all atrocious, too. He'll obviously need to pitch much better to retain a late-inning role, and he's quickly lost fantasy relevance in almost all leagues.

Dyson allowed a run on one hit (a home run) while walking one and striking out none in two innings of relief in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The home run Dyson allowed came off the bat of Jefry Marte, and the former Texas closer has now allowed three home runs in just 7.1 innings this season for an ugly ERA of 17.18. He's also struck out just two batters and walked six. Dyson has been more of a groundball pitcher and not a strikeout artist, and he'll likely be tasked with protecting leads in the late innings, just not in the ninth inning.

Dyson returned to the mound by retiring three of the four hitters faced after entering Friday's game in the ninth inning with Texas trailing 6-3.
EDGE Analysis
Dyson was tasked with getting out the top of the Angels' order, allowing just an infield single to Mike Trout, in his first game back since coming off the DL earlier in the day. He'll continue to be worked back into the bullpen mix, though it's unlikely he'll be looked upon to pick up any saves for the next little bit at a minimum. He's worth a grab and stash in deeper formats with deeper benches if he was dropped earlier however.

Dyson (hand) was activated from the disabled list on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Dyson first went on the DL on April 17 after suffering a right hand contusion. After a successful rehab assignment, he now appears ready to make a speedy return. Now that he's fully healthy, Dyson will look to put his slow start to the season that saw him blow three saves behind him.
