Rua is in the lineup and batting eighth for Wednesday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Rua hit .286/.394/.446 with one home run, 13 runs scored, and six RBI in 20 games. The 26-year-old has seen time at first base, third base, right field, left field, and DH this season and has proven to be an effective utility player for the Rangers.

Rua is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Jared Hoying will draw the start in left Tuesday in place of Rua as the Rangers face righty ace Corey Kluber. Rua has been extremely productive against lefties this season with a .395 average and a 1.042 OPS, but his numbers against right-handers (.302 avg, .592 OPS) make him susceptible to only playing a handful of games each week.

Rua and Jared Hoying will likely platoon in left field for the duration of Shin-Soo Choo's latest injury, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hoying got the start the Monday against a right-handed pitcher but Rua came off the bench in a pinch-hitting role. A strict platoon would favor the left-handed Hoying, so Rua's playing time may not be as great as initially hoped as the news of Choo's re-injury surfaced.

Rua will serve as the everyday left fielder for at least another week until Shin Shoo Choo returns from the DL, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rua gets elevated to the starting lineup, but it figure to be short-lived if Choo is able to return next weekend as currently hoped.

Rua hit his second home run as part of a 3-for-5 game with two runs scored and four RBI Tuesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Rua was in the lineup for his big-time line against lefties like Carlos Rodon this year (.368/.400/.526) but actually hit the home run off right-handed reliever Matt Albers. Rua was just 4-for-25 with 11 strikeouts against right-handers entering Tuesday's game. With Nomar Mazara excelling this year, Rua is going to struggle to find time against right-handed pitching, but it never hurts for a platoon player to show he isn't totally useless against same-handed pitching.

Rua is in the lineup and batting seventh for Thursday's game against Toronto, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Woth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rua went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts in Wednesday's game but will receive another start as the Blue Jays trot out left-hander J.A. Happ for the series finale. Rua has crushed leftlies all season, hitting .438 with a home run and two RBI in just 16 at bats.

Rua is back in the lineup, batting eighth and playing left field, for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rua hasn't seen much of the field lately, making just two starts in the past week. His ability to play both corner outfield spots plus first base will get him at-bats here and there, but he's blocked at all three positions. He's hitting .278 on the year and will replace Delino DeShields Jr. on Wednesday while Ian Desmond slides over to center field.

Rua went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Friday's 4-2 victory over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The platoon infielder got his second start in three days and responded with his first long ball of the year, a two-out, fifth-inning blast off starter Hector Santiago. Rua has proven to be a capable fill-in for Prince Fielder against southpaws, and has managed to hit safely in six of his eight starts this season. He's slashing .278/.297/.389 through his first 36 at-bats.

Rua is in the lineup and hitting eighth for Friday's game against the Angels, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rua has been fantastic against left-handed pitchers thus far, hitting .429, which is the primary reason he is in the lineup against Angels' southpaw Hector Santiago.

Rua is batting fifth as the designated hitter in Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
With C.C. Sabathia on the mound for the Yankees, the Rangers are loading up on right-handed bats. Rua hasn't seen a ton of at-bats this season, but is hitting .258 on the season while not drawing a walk. He replaces Prince Fielder in the lineup.
