Pressley closed out Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Tigers and picked up his first save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Neither Roberto Osuna nor Hector Rondon were available, so manager A.J. Hinch went to Pressly, the next best reliever. He hasn't allowed a run over his last 14 appearances, spanning 12.1 innings.

Pressly pitched a scoreless eighth inning, striking out the side in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Pressly ran his scoreless innings streak to 10.1 over 11 appearances. He's given up just four hits, struck out 16 and hasn't walked a batter during that streak. The right-hander has been dominant since the Astros acquired him from the Twins in July and should be considered for setup work if Hector Rondon's hand injury lingers.

Pressly gave up a solo home run and struck out one over one inning in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Pressly was making his Houston debut after being acquired from Minnesota on Friday. Although the game turned out to be a blowout, Pressly entered a close game with the Astros trailing by one in the seventh inning and is expected to fill a late-inning role.

Houston general manager Jeff Luhnow believes Pressly will pitch high-leverage innings, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The general manager ultimately will defer to head coach A.J. Hinch, but a late-inning role seems likely, particularly after seeing the Astros' bullpen blow up in an ugly 11-2 loss Friday. The right-handed Pressly has a 3.40 ERA (2.99 FIP) with 69 strikeouts over 47.1 innings. He's also been effective against left-handers, limiting them to a .636 OPS this season.

Pressly was traded to Houston in exchange for Jorge Alcala and Gilberto Celestino, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports
EDGE Analysis
Pressly will head to Houston with the hope of bolstering an already stellar bullpen. The 29-year-old right-hander sports a 3.40 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 69 strikeouts over 47.2 innings this season, as he figures to be deployed in mid-to-high leverage situation with the Astros.

Pressly gave up two runs, on a two-run home run, on two hits in the seventh inning to take the loss in Friday's defeat to the Angels. His ERA increased to 3.73.
EDGE Analysis
Pressly was having a solid season in a setup role until late May, as he's given up three home runs and seven earned runs in his last four innings over five appearances. Pressly is likely suffering from overuse as he's appeared in 33 of Minnesota's first 60 games. Pressly has increased his strikeout rate to a career-high 12.9 K/9 and has been somewhat unlucky wiht a .392 BABIP, so there's every reason to think he'll turn things around if he's used more conservatively.

Pressly threw a scoreless inning in Monday's loss to Houston with two strikeouts. He's thrown 4.1 scoreless innings to begin the season.
EDGE Analysis
Pressly has six strikeouts and two walks in 4.1 innings, so he's off to a strong start. He was roughed up early in 2017, but finished with a 2.62 ERA and .247 wOBA in the second half so this may be a continuation of that trend. He'll figure prominently in the late innings, but is in the mix of few relievers behind Addison Reed for saves if Fernando Rodney gets hurt or loses his closer role.

Pressly agreed to a one-year, $1.6 million contract with the Twins on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander will receive a $425,000 pay increase in his second year of arbitration eligibility. Pressly averages close to 96 mph with his fastball and gets good spin on his breaking pitches. He was roughed up early on in 2017, but finished with a 2.62 ERA and .247 wOBA in the second half, putting him in line for a more prominent role in the Twins' bullpen to begin 2018.

Pressly has a 2.28 ERA and 0.76 WHIP with 21 strikeouts across 23.2 innings since the start of June.
EDGE Analysis
Pressly struggled mightily in the first two months of the season with 19 runs allowed over 18 innings, but has put up some impressive numbers since. The 28-year-old has a 2-2 record with eight holds and a solid 44:9 K:BB for the season, but still only sees high-leverage work on an infrequent basis.

Pressly was promoted to Minnesota prior to its doubleheader against the Royals on Saturday, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pressly is bound for another appearance with the Twins, as the 28-year-old makes yet another trip to the big leagues this season. During 22 innings of work at the major-league level, Pressly holds a ghastly ERA of 8.18, with a 26:8 K:BB. Besides a few poor outings, Pressly has held his own, which is why the Twins are calling on his relief capabilities for extra bullpen depth before their doubleheader.
