Roy Oswalt has been diagnosed with a right forearm strain. The injury was originally diagnosed as flexor muscle soreness in his right elbow, but Dr. Keith Meister thinks it's more of an issue with his forearm. He will not throw for 2-3 days before being re-evaluated. Oswalt will be used as a long man once he's healthy.

The 35-year-old right-hander has a 5.94 ERA and 47/10 K/BB ratio in 50 innings over eight starts and three relief appearances this season with the Rangers.

All of the damage came in the seventh inning after he was originally brought in to get the final out of the fifth. Of course, Oswalt faced criticism Sunday and Monday after declining to go back out for a third inning of work over the weekend.
