Nationals optioned OF Roger Bernadina to Triple-A Syracuse.
He's been sent down to make room for Chien-Ming Wang, who will start Friday. Bernadina is reportedly being discussed as part of the potential Drew Storen/Denard Span deal, so he might have appeared in his last game for the Nats.

Roger Bernadina went 3-for-6 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Cubs.
Bernadina now has five hits over the last two games and has stolen two bases, giving him 13 on the season to pull within three of last year's total. As long as he continue to get regular playing time, Bernadina can help out fantasy teams with a bit of speed and pop.

Roger Bernadina went 4-for-8 with a steal and two runs scored Friday as the Nationals beat the White Sox 9-5 in 14 innings.
It was an improbably long game, as both teams scored singles runs in the 10th and 12th innings. Before that, the White Sox rallied for three in the ninth to tie it and send it into extras. The Nationals scored four times in the 14th, with their first run coming on an Alexei Ramirez error. Bernadina had an RBI single as part of the rally. He has 17 hits in his last 10 games, raising his average from .246 to .287.

Roger Bernadina continued to hit the ball well on Sunday, finishing 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Washington's 7-4 loss to Baltimore.
That makes three homers in Bernadina's last four games. He's been on quite a tear since recovering from his hamstring injury, compiling a six-game hitting streak in which he has gone 11-for-24 (.458). His batting line is up to 281/.335/.411, and it could improve more if he continues hitting in front of the now-healthy Ryan Zimmerman.
