Suarez earned the save in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Mets, allowing a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Tasked with protecting a three-run lead, Suarez worked around a leadoff single to Brett Baty and a two-out walk to Francisco Lindor, but he held firm to lock down the win for San Diego. The right-hander has been reliable in September, posting a 2.61 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB across 10.1 innings, converting four consecutive saves in that stretch. The 34-year-old is now just one save away from becoming the fifth Padres closer ever to reach the 40-save milestone, and he sits only one behind Carlos Estevez for the MLB lead.

Suarez struck out three without allowing a hit or a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
One batter reached on an error, but Suarez was able to overcome that to log his 38th save of the year. The right-hander has posted an 11:1 K:BB over 8.1 innings in September, though he has allowed three runs, including two home runs in that span. Suarez is now at a 3.06 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB through 64.2 innings this season and remains firmly in control of the closer role for the Padres.

Suarez struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez has allowed three runs over 7.1 innings in September, but this was his third clean appearance of the month. The Padres haven't generated a ton of save chances lately, which has led to Suarez slipping to second in the majors with 37 saves, two behind Kansas City's Carlos Estevez. Suarez is now at a 3.11 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 67:15 K:BB through 63.2 innings this season.

Suarez allowed one run on two hits over one inning to earn the save in Saturday's 10-8 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez picked up his first save since Aug. 26 despite giving up a solo home run to Mickey Moniak in the ninth inning. The lack of saves has been because of the Padres' 2-7 skid over the last nine games, with the only other win in that span being a blowout. This outing ended Suarez's 6.2-inning scoreless streak, but it was just the fourth homer he's allowed over 60 innings this season. The closer has matched his career high of 36 saves while maintaining a 3.00 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 63:14 K:BB.

Suarez picked up the save Tuesday against the Mariners. He allowed no hits or walks with no strikeouts over a perfect inning.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez gave up some hard contact but retired the side to lock down a Padres win Tuesday. The flamethrowing right-hander has endured shaky moments when his command wavers, yet he's still converted 35 of 40 save chances -- tied for the most saves in the majors with Carlos Estevez.

Suarez allowed two hits and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez had little margin for error, and he was able to escape a two-out situation with runners on the corners to pick up his first save since Aug. 11. This was the Padres' first game since that date to require a save. Suarez had allowed one run and racked up six strikeouts over four innings between save chances. For the season, he's up to 34 saves with a 3.09 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 59:14 K:BB through 55.1 innings.

Suarez earned a save against the Giants on Monday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez had a three-run lead to work with when he entered in the ninth frame and mowed San Francisco down in order on 19 pitches. The All-Star closer blew his previous save chance Saturday against Boston but has been very effective overall this season with a league-leading 33 saves in 38 opportunities. Though San Diego acquired Mason Miller from the A's at the trade deadline, Suarez's closer role hasn't been imposed upon -- he has three saves since Miller (who pitched the eighth inning Monday) joined the team.

Suarez allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out two over one inning, taking a blown save in Saturday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez's stretch of shaky pitching continued, and it resulted in his second blown save in his last six appearances. He's allowed at least one baserunner in each of those outings. Suarez has still converted 32 of 37 save chances while pitching to a 3.28 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 51:14 K:BB through 49.1 innings. He's functioned as the Padres' closer even since the team acquired Mason Miller at the trade deadline, but any prolonged stretch of ineffective pitching could see Suarez slip into a committee role or get taken out of the closing conversation altogether if it's a bad enough slump.

Suarez allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres didn't appear to be in need of their closer for much of this game, but Adrian Morejon created a disaster in the ninth inning, allowing two runs while failing to record an out. Suarez took over with the bases loaded and allowed one inherited runner to score on a sacrifice fly before slamming the door to earn his 32nd save of the year. Suarez has earned both of the Padres' saves since the trade deadline, so it looks like he's still ahead of Mason Miller in the closer hierarchy. On the year, Suarez has maintained a 3.28 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB, and he's been charged with just two runs over 12 innings since the start of July.

Suarez allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-1 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres' bullpen got a massive boost with the addition of Mason Miller at Thursday's trade deadline, but it was still Suarez in the ninth inning -- and against the top of the Cardinals' order -- in Friday's game. Miller worked the eighth inning, allowing two hits in a scoreless frame. Manager Mike Shildt has plenty of high-leverage arms to work with, but it remains to be seen which reliever, if any, will get a clear-cut closer role. Suarez leads the majors with 31 saves and has a 3.35 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB across 45.2 innings this season, but he posted a 4.87 ERA over 20.1 innings in June and July combined, so his stability has potentially taken a hit. Nonetheless, it looks like Suarez is at least in the mix for some save chances over the last two months of 2025.
