EDGE Analysis
Suarez managed to cling onto a one-run lead, allowing a couple of baserunners with one out in the ninth before retiring the final two batters to slam the door on his 30th save. Suarez had allowed runs during each of his previous two appearances and even with Sunday's scoreless effort, has allowed seven batters to reach base over his last 2.2 innings stretched across three outings.

Suarez (8-2) allowed a run on three hits and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Wednesday versus the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't a blown save -- Suarez was called upon to keep the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, but he couldn't get the job done. Nolan Arenado hit a walk-off single to hand Suarez his first loss since June 18. With five runs allowed over his last 8.2 innings, Suarez is one of his shakiest stretches of the season, though he's converted all five of his save chances in that span. He's now at a 2.04 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 50:10 K:BB through 53 innings while racking up 29 saves in 32 chances this year.

Suarez (8-1) got the win Sunday over the Mets after striking out one during a clean ninth inning appearance.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez did his job in the top of the ninth and kept the score tied, allowing for the Padres to walk it off in the bottom of the inning and reward him with the win. He's now picked up six saves and two wins in nine appearances in August and is one save away from becoming the fourth pitcher to reach 30 saves this season. Suarez is enjoying a spectacular season, pitching to a 1.75 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 49:10 K:BB in 51.1 innings.

Suarez picked up another save Tuesday night against the Twins after pitching a clean ninth inning and striking out a batter.
EDGE Analysis

He didn't have to work as hard to pick up three outs in this one, needing just nine pitches compared to 22 on Monday night. He's now converted six saves in a row and sits fourth in baseball with 29 saves for the year. The 33-year-old flamethrower owns a 1.79 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 48:10 K:BB in 50.1 innings this season.

Suarez earned a save against the Twins on Monday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk over one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez wasn't exactly sharp in the outing, but he had a three-run lead to work with and performed well enough to pick up the save. The right-hander threw just 12 of 22 pitches for strikes and allowed a run for the third time over his past five appearances, though he's gone 4-for-4 on save opportunities during that span. Despite the moderately bumpy stretch, Suarez still has an outstanding 1.82 ERA and 0.91 WHIP on the season, and he ranks fifth in the majors with 28 saves.

Suarez allowed one run on two hits over one inning to earn a save against the Pirates on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez entered in the ninth inning with San Diego up 2-0 and made things interesting, allowing a pair of singles that resulted in one run. However, he was able to get Bryan Reynolds to line out to end the game. The run Suarez allowed was just his second over his past 11 outings, and he's recorded three wins and four saves (in five tries) while posting a 1.54 ERA and 13:2 K:BB across 11.2 frames during that span.

Suarez picked up the save Thursday, allowing one run on two hits over one inning against the Pirates. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez allowed a two-out double to Joey Bart followed by an RBI single to Rowdy Tellez but finished off his 25th save of the season by striking out Bryan De La Cruz on three consecutive heaters to end the threat. The outing marked just the fifth time in 45 appearances that Suarez, who now owns a 1.59 ERA, has allowed at least one earned run.

Suarez struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
This was the Padres' first save opportunity since the trade deadline. After six innings of one-run ball from starter Martin Perez, the team deployed Jason Adam in the seventh inning while the game was tied at 1-1. The Padres took the lead that frame, and Tanner Scott worked the eighth before Suarez handled the ninth on a crisp nine pitches. So far, it looks like Suarez will remain in the closer role, one in which he's excelled in for most of the year despite converting just three of five save chances in July. He's at a 1.44 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 43:8 K:BB while adding 24 saves in 27 chances through 43.2 innings.

Suarez (6-1) got the win Tuesday against the Dodgers after striking out two in a scoreless 10th inning.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez was called upon to pitch the 10th after the Padres rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extras. He made the job look easy, striking out the first two batters before getting Andy Pages to fly out on the first pitch he saw for a quick 10-pitch inning. The Padres would go on to walk it off in the bottom half of the frame and Suarez was credited with his second win in as many appearances. Suarez is now working on a scoreless streak of seven innings and has struck out multiple hitters in three straight appearances. The Padres traded for lefty reliever Tanner Scott, who is having an excellent season with a 1.18 ERA and 18 saves, but Suarez remains the favorite for closing duties unless his performance starts to slip over the second half of the year.
