Gsellman (3-2) tossed seven scoreless innings Sunday, scattering three hits and two walks while striking out eight in a 17-0 rout of the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
He now has a 2.17 ERA and 28:10 K:BB in 29 innings across five September starts, and Gsellman has been a huge part of the reason why the Mets are in the thick of the wild card hunt despite all the injuries to their usual rotation. He'll take on the Phillies once more in Philadelphia on Friday to close out his regular season.

Gsellman (2-2) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings, but took the loss against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman gave the Mets another decent start Tuesday, but was outdueled by Atlanta ace Julio Teheran. The young right-hander has now gone at least five innings allowing four runs or fewer in each of his five starts, never eclipsing 100 pitches in the process. That solid stretch has given Gsellman a 3.13 ERA over 31.2 innings, and potentially a chance to finish the year in the Mets rotation with Jacob deGrom slated to undergo arm surgery later this week.

Gsellman stymied the Nationals for the second time in less than two weeks, throwing 5.2 innings of shut out ball Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman allowed one run in six innings on September 3 to defeat Washington. Wednesday, he allowed five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in his scoreless outing. Gsellman left the game with a runner in and two outs, who was stranded when Josh Smoker struck out Bryce Harper. He now has a 3.08 ERA in 26.1 innings and likely will remain in the rotation, even with the possible returns of Jacob deGrom and Steven Matz.

Gsellman allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings Friday while striking out six. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman isn't making anyone forget about Matt Harvey, but he's providing the Mets with solid, gutsy innings at a critical point in their season, meaning that he could be a source of value in deeper formats. He has 17 strikeouts, a 3.92 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP in 20.2 innings since being called up in August. His next test will be against Washington and Tanner Roark on September 14.

Gsellman (2-1) allowed just one run on six hits, three walks and four strikeouts over six innings Saturday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman is making the most of his spot-starting opportunities with the Mets. In just his second big league start, he repeatedly worked himself out of trouble and picked up a win against the first-place Nationals. The Mets are in the thick of the wild card race despite their once-vaunted rotation now being in disarray, so Gsellman figures to have earned himself a few more starts over the remainder of the month.

Gsellman (1-1) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk over six-plus innings while striking out five in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't a terrible outing for Gsellman, who threw first-pitch strikes to 19 of 24 batters and held Philly to just one run through six innings before the wheels came off in the seventh, but he got almost no run support from a Mets lineup missing Yoenis Cespedes (quad) and Neil Walker (back). New York hasn't yet announced whether Gsellman will remain in the rotation past this start but his effort may have earned him another turn.

Gsellman will join the Mets rotation while Jon Niese is on the disabled list, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman pitched 3.1 innings with the Mets on Tuesday, the first MLB innings of his career. In said game, he allowed two hits and three walks, but didn't allow any runs. Unfortunately, his outings at Triple-A Las Vegas haven't gone as well. After nine starts at the Triple-A level, Gsellman is 1-5 with a 5.73 ERA and 1.48 WHIP.

Gsellman relieved an injured and ineffective Jon Niese in the first inning Tuesday and tossed 3.2 scoreless innings to pick up the win in his Major League debut.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman allowed both inherited runners to score while walking three and allowing two hits in his outing. But he was able to dance in-and-out of trouble, striking out two in the effort. If Niese's knee injury lands him on the disabled list as expected and Steven Matz misses more than one start with his shoulder injury, Gsellman could slot into the team's starting rotation. If not, he will remain a long man out of the bullpen.

Gsellman is expected to be recalled by Mets, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the move is not official, it looks as though the Mets will bring up the right-hander, and he'll likely take the roster spot of Steven Matz, who's expected to land on the DL with a shoulder strain. While Gsellman has worked exclusively as a starter in the minors, the plan is apparently for him to begin as a bullpen arm. The 23-year-old holds a 5.73 ERA across nine starts at Triple-A Las Vegas this season, up from the 2.71 ERA he posted in 11 starts for Double-A Binghamton.

Gsellman could start Thursday in place of the injured Steven Matz (shoulder), according to Betsy Helfand of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman was scratched from Monday's scheduled start with Triple-A Las Vegas, which at least makes him an option to fill the spot in the Mets' rotation that will open up when Matz is officially placed on the disabled list. Gsellman has not had much success since joining Las Vegas in June, posting a 5.73 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over nine starts.
