Randy Wolf struck out four in four innings against the Cubs Wednesday but also allowed two runs on five hits and a walk.
Wolf had three relatively pain-free innings before allowing two doubles and a single to start off the fourth and then giving up another single later. Not a bad outing overall for the veteran, though, and he now holds a 2.08 ERA over 8 2/3 spring innings. He'll hold down the No. 4 spot in the rotation again this year for the Brew Crew.

Randy Wolf was excellent in his second outing of the spring Friday, striking out two in 2 2/3 hitless innings against the Indians.
He walked two. The Brewers completely stymied the Tribe this afternoon, throwing 6 1/3 hitless before Cristian Guzman broke through for a seventh-inning single. Wolf has now tossed 4 2/3 hitless innings to begin his third spring with the Brew Crew.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said both Game 4 starter Randy Wolf and Game 5 starter Zack Greinke would be available out of the bullpen for a potential Game 7.
"I talked to Ron," said Wolf. "I said, 'If you need me in the bullpen, I'm there.' I've pitched out of the bullpen a few times. The biggest thing is don't try harder. Just take the same mentality as when you're starting. Throw nice and easy and throw strikes." Roenicke also added that Yovani Gallardo, who will start Game 7, is not an option out of the pen for Game 6, which is no surprise since the Brewers need to win the final two games to advance.

Randy Wolf had his good stuff Thursday, limiting the Cardinals to two runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings in the 4-2 NLCS Game 4 win over the Cardinals.
He struck out six. Wolf didn't look like he would be long for the game after serving up solo shots in the second and third innings, but he settled in after that, lulling the Cards to sleep with his slow breaking ball. It's the first quality start notched by either team during the NLCS, and it comes from an unlikely source given that Wolf had allowed 17 runs over his previous 14 2/3 innings. Zack Greinke and Jaime Garcia will square off in Game 5 Friday.

Randy Wolf was hammered in Wednesday's Game 4 of the NLDS, surrendering seven runs on eight hits in only three innings of work.
The damage started with a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the first inning. This was the third consecutive sub-par outing for a Milwaukee starter. Yovani Gallardo will try to stop the bleeding when he takes the mound Friday for the deciding Game 5.

Randy Wolf will be fine to make his final start despite a large bruise on his lower left forearm as a result of a hit by pitch in Wednesday's game.
He'll be looking to bounce back from an outing where he gave up six runs in a loss to the Cubs. "It's a little stiff, but I'll be all right," said Wolf. "It looks a lot worse than it feels. I think the bruise looks worse because I'm so pale. I'll throw a (bullpen session) tomorrow and I should be fine. It's been getting better every day. I have an extra day because of the off-day (Thursday), so that should help. By the time I pitch again, I think it'll be OK."

Randy Wolf tossed eight innings of one-run ball in a 4-1 win over the Cardinals on Monday.
The Cardinals torched Wolf last week, but the left-hander kept them in check this time. He allowed just four hits while striking out five and walking a pair. The only run scored on a double-play ground ball by Allen Craig in the bottom of the fifth inning. Wolf is now 12-9 with a 3.47 ERA on the year and will get the Phillies this weekend.

Randy Wolf allowed six runs on seven hits in five innings of Milwaukee's loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Wolf allowed solo home runs to Rafael Furcal and Albert Pujols in the first before serving up a grand slam to his Cardinals counterpart Jake Westrbrook in the fourth. Tonight was the first time all season he allowed more than two home runs in a start, and also the first time 16 outings he failed to complete at least six innings of work. He'll get the Cardinals again on Monday, this time in St. Louis.

Randy Wolf gave up five runs over 6 1/3 innings as part of a no-decision in a win over the Mets on Saturday.
The outing broke a streak of seven straight games with Brewers' starters allowing one run or less. Wolf actually allowed just one run over the first six innings before unraveling in his final inning of work. The southpaw gave up eight hits while fanning three and walking one. He'll carry a 3.45 ERA into a start against the Cubs next week.
