Randy Wolf struggled in Saturday's loss to the Nationals, allowing three home runs as part of his four runs on nine hits over seven innings of work.
He racked up six strikeouts against just one walk on the evening. Corey Brown got the scoring started with a solo shot in the first inning, and Tyler Moore added a two-run job before the inning was through. Ryan Zimmerman tacked on a solo drive of his own in the fifth inning, completing the scoring for the game. Wolf has been very ineffective this season, posting a 3-7 record and 5.45 ERA, and one has to wonder if he is long for the Brewers rotation. He'll attempt to turn things around when he battles the Cardinals in St. Louis on Friday.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said the struggling Randy Wolf will remain in the rotation.
"That's not even on my mind right now," Roenicke said. "It has been a hard year for him. I'm hoping (Friday) night doesn't set him back because I thought the four previous games were good." As Roenicke mentioned, Wolf had been pitching a little better of late prior to his last outing, and the Brewers don't really have any better options at the moment to replace him with Shaun Marcum out. They'll face a decision when Marcum returns, though, as Marco Estrada and Michael Fiers are both out-pitching Wolf.

Randy Wolf's miserable 2012 season continued on Friday, as he allowed eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits over four innings.
He did strike out six in the game while not walking any, but that's far from a saving grace for his season. Wolf now sits at 2-6 with a 5.78 ERA on the season. While this should be the final straw that boots him from the rotation, with the injury to Shawn Marcum the Brewers are struggling for depth at the moment. As it stands, he'll likely take his next turn in the rotation against the Marlins at home on Wednesday. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues moving forward.

Randy Wolf was hammered by the Pirates on Friday, giving up six runs on eight hits over his six innings of work.
Wolf struck out five and also walked four in the game. The loss drops him to 2-5 on the season and raises his ERA to an unacceptable 6.05. Brewers management maintains that his rotation spot is safe for the time being, however he shouldn't be owned or started in any fantasy leagues at this point. He'll try to turn things around when he takes on the Cubs at home on Thursday.

Randy Wolf was quality in a no-decision against the Giants Monday, holding them to three runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings in the extra innings loss.
It looked like it was going to be another dud from Wolf after Buster Posey took him deep with a three-run shot in the first inning, but the southpaw settled in after that to turn in just his third quality start in nine tries this season. Wolf can't be trusted this weekend in Arizona, where he'll come in with a 6.02 ERA and 1.70 WHIP.

Randy Wolf struggled again in a loss to the Giants on Saturday, giving up four runs in six innings of work.
Wolf struck out three and didn't walk a batter in the game but he surrendered nine hits. The 35-year-old has been largely ineffective this season and now sits 2-3 with a 6.68 ERA through his first 32 1/3 innings. While he's a cagey veteran and will be allowed to work through some of his struggles, Wily Peralta looms as a possible replacement should Wolf's struggles continue. The Cubs are up next.

Randy Wolf yielded three runs over five innings in a win over the Padres on Monday.
Wolf gave up nine hits and walked three, so he hardly dominated the weak-hitting Padres, but it was enough to secure his second victory of the season. The veteran southpaw closes the book on April with a 6.84 ERA to go along with an underwhelming 16/12 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings. He's not mixed league material.

Randy Wolf pitched well against the Astros on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits over his six innings of work.
Wolf struck out four and walked four on the evening. Wolf surrendered just a solo homer to Jose Altuve in the second and an RBI double to Carlos Lee in the sixth inning. He'll look to keep the ball rolling when he takes on the Padres in San Diego next week.

Randy Wolf was tomahawked by the Braves on Friday, allowing seven runs on nine hits in just 4 1/3 innings.
Wolf hasn't pitched well at all through his first two starts, sporting a 9.64 ERA. If he continues to pitch this poorly, his spot in the Milwaukee rotation could be in jeopardy. He'll look to get in the win column for the first time next week against the Dodgers.

Randy Wolf was lit up by the Reds Thursday, allowing seven runs on 12 hits over seven innings of work.
He did strike out six and didn't walk anyone, so there's that. Wolf has given up double-digit hits in two of his last three spring starts, but overall he hasn't performed too badly, posting a 3.10 ERA coming into the day. He should have another solid year as the team's No. 4 starter if he remain healthy.
