Evans signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Dec. 21.
EDGE Analysis
Evans last appeared in a big-league game in 2021 as a member of the Pirates, and he's since played for affiliates of the Yankees and Diamondbacks. He's unlikely to make Atlanta's Opening Day roster, but he could stick around with the club as organizational depth.

Evans was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Evans was signed by the D-Backs to a minor-league deal in December and received an invitation to spring training. The former Met will likely begin the year with Triple-A Reno after failing to secure a roster spot on the Opening Day roster.

Evans signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday and was invited to major-league spring training, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans has posted a .651 OPS over parts of four major-league seasons but spent all of 2022 at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the Yankees organization. The 30-year-old will compete for a utility job.

Evans was assigned to minor-league camp Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Evans was in camp as a non-roster invitee and was trying to win a bench job, but he'll have to keep making his case in the minors for now. After posting a .206/.312/.299 slash line in 76 games for the Pirates last season, it's no surprise he wasn't viewed as a top option.

Evans agreed Tuesday with the Yankees on a minor-league contract, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old utility man is coming off a 2021 campaign in which he hit .206 with five home runs and a stolen base across 247 plate appearances in 76 games with the Pirates. Though his ability to play multiple spots in the infield and outfield could make him a useful bench option, he'll likely have a tougher time winning a roster spot with a contending Yankees club than he did with the rebuilding Pirates last season. Expect Evans to report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following spring training if he doesn't break camp with the parent club.

Evans was released by the Pirates on Tuesday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans appeared at all four corner positions in 2021 but didn't look anything like a corner bat, hitting just .206/.312/.299 in 247 plate appearances. The Pirates apparently didn't think he had much value even as a bench piece, so he'll look for other opportunities on the open market, presumably on a minor-league deal.

Evans was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans' latest stint on the active roster lasted just four days. He's spent most of the season at the big-league level but has failed to impress at the plate, hitting .206/.312/.299 in 76 games. Cody Ponce was recalled to take his place on the roster.

Evans was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Evans spent the last several days on the Pirates' taxi squad, but he'll now rejoin the major-league roster after spending nearly a month in the minors. He'll provide additional depth in Pittsburgh's infield while Michael Chavis (elbow) and Ke'Bryan Hayes (hand) are sidelined. Evans has hit .208 with five homers, 22 runs, 16 RBI and a stolen base in 72 big-league games this year.

Evans has joined the Pirates' taxi squad in Chicago and is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis either Tuesday or Wednesday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Along with Evans, another utility player in Hoy Park has reported to Chicago ahead of the six-game set in the Windy City with the White Sox and Cubs. Whether Evans or Park is formally added to the roster Tuesday will likely hinge on the statuses of Michael Chavis (elbow) and Ke'Bryan Hayes (hand), who are currently being labeled as day-to-day but may require stints on the injured list. If neither Chavis nor Hayes is deactivated Tuesday, the Pirates would have the ability to activate both Evans and Park to the roster Wednesday without making a corresponding move. All MLB active rosters will expand from 26 to 28 men Wednesday for the final month of the regular season.

Evans was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Evans' playing time was sporadic recently, and he had started in just five games since the All-Star break. He went 5-for-24 with a double, two runs, an RBI and four walks during that time, but he should see more consistent at-bats in the minors. Outfielder Anthony Alford's contract was selected by the Pirates as part of the transaction.
