Moylan agreed to a one-year contract with Royals on Friday, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports.

After a respectable 50-game stint with Kansas City last year, the 38-year-old veteran appears to still have enough left in the tank for another season. In 44.2 innings pitched with the Royals last season, Moylan posted a solid 3.43 ERA in addition to a 4.00 WAR.

However, the organization feels Moylan is throwing the ball too well for that, so he will move up to Gwinnett and look to earn another promotion to the major league club later this season. The 36-year-old has posted a 2.80 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 309 career appearances in the majors, but he hasn't made more than 14 appearances in the bigs since 2010.
