Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and walk during a 6-5 victory against the Pirates on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
It's a small sample, but the first baseman is 4-for-13 (.308) with two home runs and a double over the last four games. Goldschmidt is now on pace for another 30-homer season, but just barely. Moreover, he's batting only .251, particularly notable considering he hasn't hit below .290 since 2012. Goldschmidt has 18 home runs, 43 RBI and 56 runs in 351 at-bats overall this season.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-2 with a two-run double, two walks and three runs in a win over the Pirates on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The impactful hits that have largely eluded Goldschmidt for the majority of the season continued to materialize Monday. Goldschmidt has racked up three doubles and three home runs over 40 plate appearances across his first 10 games in July, giving his slugging percentage a quick 25-point boost to .430. While that remains well below his career .524 figure, his recent surge and the fact he's sporting a career-high 49.2 percent hard-contact rate hint at the possibility that Goldschmidt may be primed to continue his ascent back up.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs overall in a win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt's 416-foot blast to left in the third inning extended the Cardinals' lead to 4-0 and served as his third round tripper of July. The extra-base hits are finally starting to materialize for the 31-year-old, after a largely frustrating first half during which he made plenty of hard contact but saw relatively modest return. Factoring in Sunday's production, Goldschmidt already has five extra-base hits (two doubles, three homers) in nine July games, just one fewer than the six extra-base knocks he generated during all of June.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
His three-run shot in the eighth inning was too little too late for the Cards, but it did give Goldschmidt his second homer in as many nights and 16th of the season. The veteran slugger has hit safely in six straight games, pushing his slash line on the year to a still-disappointing .254/.344/.428, but he at least seems to be building up some momentum heading into the second half.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks in Friday's 9-4 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The first baseman's homer came off Giants starter Drew Pomeranz in the first inning, extending the Cardinals' lead to 3-0 at the time. Goldschmidt is heating up at the dish, having hit .333 (6-for-18) with three extra-base hits and four walks in his last five games. For the season, the 31-year-old is hitting .251/.342/.418 with 33 RBI and 48 runs scored.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt managed what has surprisingly become a relatively rare feat for him, an extra-base hit, during the victory, marking the first time he'd laced anything more than a single since June 20. With just 22 extra-base knocks over 359 plate appearances, the valued offseason acquisition continues on pace for his poorest showing in that category since his 48-game cup of coffee with the Diamondbacks back in 2011. The lack of impactful hits is partly responsible for Goldschmidt's career-low .323 wOBA, with the scenario made even more confounding by the fact he also sports a career-high 49.3 percent hard-contact rate.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with an RBI double, a walk and a run in an extra-innings loss to the Marlins on Thursday. He struck out in his other three at-bats.
EDGE Analysis
If one wanted to find any one particular Goldschmidt box score that accurately encapsulates his 2019 season thus far, Thursday's would be more than adequate. The slugger's final line represented both the highs and lows of his first Cardinals campaign, with Goldschmidt coming through with a clutch hit but still swinging and missing more than he made contact. The prized offseason acquisition now has 79 strikeouts over 316 plate appearances, pushing his current whiff rate to 25.0 percent. That's just a tick below last season's 25.1 figure, and it serves as his second highest overall since his initial major-league stint back in 2011 with the Diamondbacks. Also of concern is Goldschmidt's career-low .176 ISO, which has him way off the pace of the 68 extra-base hits he's averaged over his previous seven seasons; factoring in Thursday's two-bagger, Goldschmidt has a modest 21 extra-base knocks over his first 74 games as a Cardinal.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-2 with a walk-off home run off the bench in a 2-1 win over the Marlins on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt pinch-hit in the ninth inning and struck out, but he came through in his next opportunity in the 11th inning with a walk-off home run. The 31-year old was given the day off after producing a .050/.174/.200 slash line in his last six games. Perhaps this could be the burst of momentum that snaps Goldschmidt out of his slump.

Goldschmidt is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt is slashing just .179/.270/.321 with two homers in 16 games this month, so he'll take a seat for the second time in five games as he looks to hit the reset button. In his place, Rangel Ravelo is starting at first base and hitting fifth Wednesday.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two runs and two walks during a 4-3 victory against the Mets on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
His first-inning blast snapped an 0-for-12 stretch. This was also Goldschmidt's first homer since June 1. He has 13 homers this season, which isn't a bad total, but Goldschmidt only has four long balls since April 23. He is slashing a disappointing .262/.353/.433 with 19 extra-base hits, 29 RBI and 42 runs in 301 plate appearances this season.
