Orioles and OF Nolan Reimold avoided arbitration by agreeing to a contract. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed. Reimold, who is rehabbing from June surgery on his neck, has had a relatively normal offseason and is expected to be 100% by the start of spring training. He'll open the season as a likely platoon option in left field with Nate McLouth, limiting his fantasy value.

Nolan Reimold will undergo an X-ray on his surgically-repaired neck in December before he can be cleared to go full-out with his offseason weightlifting. Reimold has finished up his rehab from June surgery on his neck and is expected to have a relatively normal offseason. He'll begin baseball activities after Christmas and should arrive to spring training at 100 percent, barring any setbacks. Reimold is the top in-house option to start in left field in 2013, but the O's might look outside the organization.

Orioles activated OF Nolan Reimold from the 60-day disabled list. Reimold was limited to just 16 games this season due to a neck injury which required surgery. The 29-year-old expects to be ready for spring training and could play a significant role depending upon what the Orioles do this offseason.

Nolan Reimold is progressing well from neck surgery but is not yet fully healed. Reimold had two vertebrae fused together in order to alleviate pressure on a nerve in his neck, but they're not totally fused yet. He expects to have a normal offseason and arrive at spring training at 100 percent.

Nolan Reimold (neck) is two weeks away from being released from his medical rehab. Reimold will not make it back this season even if the Orioles make a deep postseason run, but he's expected to have a normal offseason. The outfielder underwent surgery in June to remove a bulging disk from his neck and fuse two vertebrae together to alleviate pressure on a nerve.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Nolan Reimold (neck) is recovering well, but it's too soon to tell if the outfielder might potentially be available for postseason play. The Orioles have never officially ruled Reimold out for the season following a discectomy in June even though a return appeared unlikely. It still remains a longshot, but it sounds like the door is being left open. Reimold is four weeks into his eight-week rehab schedule.

Nolan Reimold (neck) is reportedly progressing well from June surgery and expects to be a full participant in spring training. Reimold is no longer rehab under team supervision, and won't return this season. Whether Reimold is capable of regaining his pre-injury form remains to be seen. He'll likely face competion as the Orioles everyday left fielder.

Nolan Reimold underwent a successful discectomy Monday at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. The surgery, which was performed by Dr. Ziya Gokaslan, involved removing a bulging disk from his neck and fusing two vertebrae together to alleviate pressure on a nerve. As Reimold said last week, it's believed to be similar to the procedure NFL quarterback Peyton Manning had last year. Reimold hasn't ruled out returning later this season, but it's a long shot.

Nolan Reimold confirmed that he will undergo surgery Monday to remove a bulging disk from his neck. The surgery will be performed at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Reimold likened the procedure to Peyton Manning's, as the disk which is impinging on the nerve will be removed and then he'll have his spine fused. He hasn't ruled out returning later this year, but that appears highly unlikely at this point. He's safe to drop in the great majority of redraft leagues.

Nolan Reimold has decided to undergo surgery to alleviate the pressure on a nerve caused by a herniated disk in his cervical spine. The Orioles have yet to make an official announcement, as the club is letting Reimold determine how he wants to address the topic with the media. We likely won't know a clear timetable on his return until the surgery is complete, but Orioles manager Buck Showalter isn't ready to rule him out for the season just yet.
