Nolan Reimold (neck) has made a decision regarding possible surgery.
The Orioles are waiting to make an official announcement, but it doesn't sound promising. Reimold has been sidelined since early May due to complications with a herniated disk in his neck.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter reiterated that Nolan Reimold (neck) has been ruled out through the All-Star Break.
Showalter wants to see the results of a second opinion from a cervical specialist before he will speculate further, but the clear insinuation here is that Reimold's season is potentially in jeopardy. The 28-year-old outfielder hasn't played since early May due to a herniated disk in his neck. An MRI Thursday showed that the disk had shrunk.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Monday that Nolan Reimold (neck) will not be back before the All-Star break.
Not a huge surprise at this point. Reimold is scheduled to see another cervical specialist Monday in Baltimore, after which we should know more about his long-term status. For what it's worth, Showalter didn't sound too optimistic. The 28-year-old outfielder hasn't played since early May due to a herniated disk in his neck.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Friday that Nolan Reimold (neck) will see a neurosurgeon.
Reimold underwent an MRI this week which showed that his herniated disk is improving, but he's trying to get to the bottom of why he's still dealing with some tingling. The 28-year-old outfielder hasn't resumed baseball activities and there's no timetable for his return.

Nolan Reimold (neck) underwent an MRI Thursday to determine how he's healed since a previous MRI.
The results are not yet known. If the Orioles like what they see, Reimold should be cleared for baseball-related activities. There's no timetable for his return to the O's lineup.

Reimold is no longer dealing with pain in his left shoulder and arm, but he still has some tingling. It's not clear at this point when he'll resume drills, and until he does, we can't project a timetable for his return.

Nolan Reimold (neck) is no longer dealing with pain in his left shoulder and arm.
Reimold is still dealing with some tingling, but it sounds like the second epidural injection did the job. While he still needs to regain strength, he should be able to resume baseball activities before long. There's no formal timetable for him to rejoin the Orioles, though.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Nolan Reimold receiving a second epidural injection for his neck is likely at this point.
"Every day, you are hoping he takes that step," Showalter said. "I'd be less than forthcoming if I didn't think that the possibility of a second injection isn't a probability." Reimold was put on an anti-inflammatory steroid medication and given the first injection on May 11, but he's still dealing with some tingling in his left thumb and discomfort in the left forearm/shoulder area. At this point, Reimold is unlikely to make it back before June.

Nolan Reimold (neck) said Sunday he doesn't expect to be able to return from the disabled list when he's eligible on Wednesday.
Reimold received an epidural injection Friday morning. Manager Buck Showalter said Reimold would be examined further Monday. "I'll see how it feels tomorrow and then go from there," Reimold said. "It could be a couple of days. It could be stretched out for a while. So hopefully that shot will work the first time and it'll be sooner rather than later." It's realistic to view his return date as late-May, at this point.
